I sit on a hill, watching the sunset, a ring of fire around me.
"Y/n?" I hear above the roaring of the flames. I look towards the sound of my name to find Loki looking at me. I let the flames die down, not even leaving a scorch on the grass around me. Loki walks toward me. "The grass isn't even touched." He says looking impressed.
"It's just an illusion. There wasn't any smoke either, or they would know where I was this whole time." I reply. He nods and we sit there in a comfortable silence for a while.
"Why would Stark talk to you in such a vulgar manner?" He asks.
"Why would Odin order your mouth be sewn shut?" I answer with a question of my own and sigh. "They don't agree with something so it must be wrong. They don't realize that they're wrong in doing such things." I reply, looking away. We sit for a while longer. "I don't think you're a villain. I think you're just hurt, and nobody's willing to listen to you." I look at him to see his face in an impassive expression. "I am."
"You are what?" His expression falters.
"Willing to listen." I place a hand on his, but remove it when he doesn't do anything. He grabs my hand and gives it a small squeeze.
"Thank you." He says quietly, a small, barely noticeable smile on his face. I smile too.
"We should probably go back." I say after a while. We get up and start walking back. "How'd you even manage to get out?"
"Same as you. I jumped out your window." He replies. I laugh.
"Well I guess that works." I reply. We reach the building and decide to go through the garage. I knew Tony and Bruce would be in the lab, Wanda would be with Vision, and the others would be training.
I step into the elevator, and go up to Wanda's level. She was alone.
"Hey Wanda. Is Vision training with the others?" I ask.
"Yes. What are you doing?" She asks, glancing at Loki for a second.
"Proving something." I reply. I turn to Loki. "I'm proving that Loki isn't bad. I need you to look into his mind." I say.
"I didn't agree to that." He says.
"Don't you want them to stop treating you like a villain?" I ask. He stops arguing. I turn to Wanda. "Do it." I see red swirls shooting from her fingers and around Loki's head.
She collapses, tears flowing down her face. I rush to her side. "He's not bad. He's simply in a lot of pain." She says wiping at her tears.
Loki looks down at his feet. I help Wanda up. "Thank you Wanda. Could you- never mind." I stop.
"What is it y/n?" She pushes.
"I was going to ask you to tell the others, but they might not like that very much. You heard what Tony said to me today." I say, lowering my voice at the end.
"I don't need their pity." Loki says bitterly.
"Just don't say anything." I say to Wanda.
"I won't, unless you want me to. Nor will I disclose details of your past." Wanda said to Loki. He nodded his thanks.
"Thank you." I say again as Loki and I leave.

"Y/n, wake up!" I open my eyes at the sound of my name and my door being abused. I sigh and get out of bed.
"What is it Steve? The world better be ending if you're waking me up at 6:30 am on a Saturday." I mumble tiredly.
"Fury is here." He says. "He's here to see..." He trails off, and glances over his shoulder to Loki's closed door. "The new resident." He says tightly, then walks off downstairs. I roll my eyes and close the door.
I change my clothes and brush my teeth. I walk up to Loki's door, and knock three times. "Loki! Get up!" I yell. I wait a little while and decide to knock again. Just as I go to knock on the door, it opens and I hit Loki in the chest. "Oh, sorry. Get changed and come downstairs please. Fury is here to see you." He nods and walks back into his room, while I go down.
"Director." I greet as I walk into the kitchen.
"Agent. Where's Loki?" He asks.
"Coming." I reply shortly, looking through the fridge. I hear a snort and turn to Tony who's standing by the door. "Got something to say Stark?" I ask hotly.
"Not to you. Not now that I know where your loyalties lie." He replies.
"You know what? I've had just about en-" I start, but as soon as Loki shows up, I stop myself. "We can discuss this later." I snap, turning back to fridge. I grab the milk, and a glass from the cupboard. Pouring myself a glass, I sit down.
"Well, Loki of Asgard, we need to have a chat. Y/n, if you could come with us please." Fury says standing up.
"Oh, I don't know. Why don't you ask Anthony if that's okay? He seems to thinks he's in control of everything around here." I growl, standing up. I chug my milk and put the glass in the sink, then walk out of the kitchen.

"You can't tell anyone about what you heard here today." Fury tells me.
"I know." I nod absentmindedly. My thoughts are clouding my head as Loki and I walk back to the kitchen. "Are you hungry?" I ask him, trying to snap out of my thoughts. He shakes his head and we go back upstairs, sitting in his room.
"Those books you brought..." I paused, unsure if it's a touchy subject or not. He glances at me but doesn't say anything. I take that as an okay. "They look more like journals than reading books."
"That would be because they are journals." He says looking at me again. "They belonged to someone I knew."
"Who was she?" I ask cautiously.
"I didn't say 'she'." He replies.
"Well, it just sounded like it would be a girl, from the way you're talking about her."
"She was very dear to me. I truly miss her." He says solemnly.
"Tell me about her." I say, though it sounded more like a question.
"She was very beautiful, kind, smart, free-spirited." He laughed at the last one. "She was taken from me." He said after a while.
"What... what happened?"
His eyes turned dark. "She was sent to Midgard. Her memory was erased from everyone's mind on Asgard. Everyone's, except mine... and Odin's, the one who took her from me." His voice turned rough. "When I came to Midgard, I searched for her, but she didn't remember me." He glances at me, and I look right back. "She doesn't remember anything of her life on Asgard, or know of her true parentage. She doesn't remember me." He paused and took a breath. "She doesn't remember me. That angered me. I was angry at Odin and this realm. At Thor because he was allowed to be with the mortal, but I couldn't be with the woman I love, because of what she was, because of what 'threat' she posed in Odin's eyes. She was innocent." He ends.
"You said 'didn't' at first. Then you changed to 'doesn't'. Why?" I ask, noticing the small change.
"I talked to her again recently. She doesn't remember me. Though, she didn't treat me like a villain. She's just as I remember her." He looks at me again.
"Why don't you tell her?" I ask.
"I am. You simply do not remember me. That is why I brought your journals." He replies.
