"I talked to her again recently. She doesn't remember me. Though, she didn't treat me like a villain. She's just as I remember her." He looks at me again.

"Why don't you tell her?" I ask.

"I am. You simply do not remember me. That is why I brought your journals." He replies.

After a second, I laugh. "Right, God of Mischief. That's funny. Good joke. I almost fell for it too." I continue laughing. He continues to look at me and he has no signs of amusement on his face. I stop laughing. "You can't be serious." I say quietly. "Are you serious?" I ask raising my voice a little. He continues to look at me. I rush to the journals, and pick one up.

"Oh no, Y/n, that's mine!" Loki exclaims, rushing to me as I open the journal. He grabs it out of my hand and gives me a different one. I open it.

"That's... my writing. That's not possible." I laugh again, clearly in denial. "Loki?" I look up at him. He doesn't say anything but his eyes tell me everything I need to know as he lowers them. "That's... wow." I breathe. I shake my head, trying to organize my thoughts. "It all makes sense now. Why you never attacked me..." I sigh and put my head in my hands. "Does anyone else know?"

"Just Fury, Odin, and us. I am not sure if Thor knows." He replies, quietly.

"Okay. Please don't tell anyone else. I'm not ready for them to know. The mission will be a failure if they do." I stand up and walk around the room. "Can you tell me about it? My time on Asgard." He nods, and I close the door, then sit beside him on the bed.

"I know you're mind is guarded so I'm going to need you to lower your guard." He says gently.

"How did you know?" I ask lowering my guard.

"I taught you how to do it." He says as he puts a hand to my forehead. "I'm going to this from the beginning. It will make more sense and you can read about it in the journals after." I nod, and let him inside my head.

I walk around the castle walls, unable to sleep. As I am about to go back inside, I see a body in the stairs. I shake it.

"You're not allowed to sleep here." I turn the body over, and see a young female, likely around my age. Her face is covered in bruises, cuts, and blood. I see the word 'filth' craved into her arm. I check her pulse. Weak, but it is there. "Help! Guards!" I yell, and her footsteps approach me. "Get her inside, and wake the Head Healer." I hear a chorus of 'Yes, Prince Loki' as they lift her up and carry her inside. I follow behind.

They carry her into a room and I wait in there with her. The Head Healer comes rushing in.

"Prince, you cannot be in here." She says urgently. I nod and walk out. I wait for a while. Eventually, the healer comes out. "She should be okay."

"Get her put in my room." The healer bows and walks back inside. I walk to my room and leave the door open while I go to my closet. I grab a random shirt and put it on the bed. I write note. 'For the girl.' I put it on the shirt and walk out.

I go to the kitchen and ask for a glass of walk, some bread, and meat. After the Head Chef makes a big deal about me coming here instead of sending a servant, he gets the food. He puts it on a tray and asks someone to bring it to my room for me. When me and the servant reach my door, which is now closed, I grab the tray from him. "That will be all, thank you." I dismiss him as he bows. I walk in to see the girl in the green shirt I left out. Her bloodied clothes must have been taken to launder. She is on the bed, the covers tightly tucked around her. I sigh and set the tray on the table in the corner of my room. I sit on one of the armchairs by the fireplace. Flicking my wrist, I light the fire. I close my eyes, not sleeping but trying to rest while the girl recovered.

I heard the covers shifting and I opened my eyes to see the girl sitting up and looking around, confused. I stand up and she snaps her eyes to me.

"Prince Loki?" She asks. I nod and glance at her arm. The word is gone, likely healed, but you can still see a few scratches, which will probably be gone with time.

"I found you, beaten very badly, and I had you healed." I reply quietly. She nods. "What is your name?"

"Y/n."

"Y/n what?"

"Taidottir. My father, Tai, was a guard here."

"Yes. I remember him. Who is your mother?"

"I do not know. She died when I was very young, and my father never talked of her." She replies with a frown. I nod my head.

"You should get some rest."

"What about you?" Y/n asks.

"I'm fine. Don't worry about me. Just sleep." I answer. She lies back down and pulls the covers over herself. Within a few minutes, her breathing evens out, and I sigh.

"Woah. Who did that to me?" I ask him as he moves his hand away.

"You will find out. I do not wish to overwhelm you. I was not planning on telling you this today." He answers. I nod.

"Wait. Does Wanda know the truth then? She looked inside you head." He nods. "Wow. Okay. At least, I know she won't tell." I sigh and put my head in my hands. I stay like that for a seconds until my thoughts drift to the rest of the Avengers. "I need to figure things out with the others. I can't get them to start liking you if they hate me." I groan. "Thank you, Loki." I say, looking into his eyes.

"For what?"

"For telling the truth. It seems like that's rare around here these days." I say getting up. I put the journal back in its spot then walk to the door. I give Loki a grateful look, then go downstairs.

I look for Tony, seeing as he's the most angry one. I walk into the lab to see him and Bruce working in separate corners. I walk up to Bruce and sit down on a stool. "Hey, bro." I greet.

"Hey, y/n."

"What're you doing tomorrow?"

"Same as everyday." He says with a smile.

"Could we hang out?" He looks up from his work.

"Sure, if you want to." He replies. I smile.

"Cool." I get up and walk over to Tony. "Hey." I say quietly. He looks up and gives me a small glare. I frown. "Come on, I need to talk to you." He sighs.

"About what?" He asks softly.

"You know." I reply. He nods and stands up. He starts putting some of his things away, and I walk out of the lab. I wait for him outside the door, and he walks out a few minutes later. I lead him to his room, and he follows without a word. I sit down on the edge of his bed. He closes the door behind him, but stands by it, leaning against the wall. Likely to storm off when he can't stand to talk to me anymore.

"I know you're mad but Fury told me not to tell anyone. He said that he'd do it himself. I guess he didn't, but that's not my fault." He stays where he is, silent. I sigh and stand up. "I really think I can do this." I walk closer to him slowly. "If I didn't, I wouldn't take the job. I'm not going to put everyone's lives in danger." I pause to see if he says anything, but he doesn't. "I won't apologize for something I believe in." I say raising my voice a little.

"I know." He sighs. "We have that in common. That's what makes us so bad for each other." He pushes off the wall and I walk closer to him. I grab his shirt and pull him closer to me. My eyes close as I feel our lips touch. I start backing up to the bed, pulling Tony with me, not once breaking the kiss, and lie down.
