Time went on and Michiyo and Dabi continued on with their lives at Ichinose's place. They had no other place to go and they enjoyed being with one another. Just peacefully going on with the daily life, and embracing one another during the night.
Michiyo loved these peaceful moments because it was something she had lost and thought she could never get back. She really appreciate every moment right now because she's got someone to share it with. She loved Dabi, and she wanted to have these moments to last as long as possible.
Dabi himself never thought he could have peaceful times with someone too. He never really cared for a relaxing and peaceful moment like this because he knew he will never go back to it once he took on the path of villainy but it wasn't bad to have it and someone to share it with him.
Neither Michiyo or Dabi went to check on how A was doing all alone in the basement. Then again, whether they live or die have nothing to do with them anymore. They have played enough of the bone crushing game and knowing A will bear the rest of the hellish days was enough. With this, Michiyo's 40 days of hell could be put to rest as a scar in her memories, but Dabi will be there to slowly heal them and make them nothing but a bad dream.
Ichinose went to the basement to check on A. After taking a short trip away from the basement, he plucked up the courage to go down and check on the situation. The smell of feces were repugnant and foul right to the guts. He looked at A to see he was deathly malnourished. B's decomposing body served nothing to get rid of any smell. If anything, B's decomposing body was probably the foulest thing ever.
A was lying on the ground, watching nothing. Because he had nothing to eat but the rotting flesh of his brother, he had nothing to drink but from the blood of the cuts he's forced to make on himself. He was getting weaker and weaker with each sunsets and sunrises.
"You're still here? You really have a surprisingly strong will to live." Ichinose dared not to move away from the last step that will take him to the floor of the basement. He did not move any further because he did not want to go down fully and be contaminated.
"Why...?" A quietly asked the priest.
"As to why I am here? Or why you're the only one alive?" Ichinose asked, "I'm here to tell God there will be a soul for him to pick up. What he decides to do with you is his own choice. As for why you're the one who was alive...because Michiyo-chan chose you to bear hell."
"Why...?" A whispered weakly.
"You have a very funny mind. She told me you were the one who instigated the whole idea. When your brothers planned to leave her on the street, you suggested the healing diamond flower gimmick. You brought this upon yourself and now you're trying to blame the young girl?"
"She..." A gasped for breath because it was getting hard to breathe. "She is a monster..."
"Perhaps she is. But wasn't the monster born because of you and your brothers? She was an innocent angel but you all plucked the feathers from her wings again and again. She, who could no longer fly, have decided to walk on a path she shouldn't have. If none of this have happened, she could have lived a normal life where she's blind to the evilness to this world." Ichinose really wished for Michiyo to live the normal life of a civilian of this superhuman society. He thought her smiles and her diligence to learn and socialize with others would be perfect. If she had gone to school, she'd be a popular girl and she'd be popular with the boys because she was cute. This girl grew on him, a villain, to the point he wished he could be a grandparent for her. "You stole from that girl time and time again. You cannot blame her for doing so."
"She's gonna go to hell...I'll curse her, I'll curse her...!" A cursed Michiyo again and again. With his dying breath, he cursed the blue haired girl over and over again for all the misfortune he and his brother had to go through. "We had it all! That bitch ruined everything! Because of her, a daughter and a wife no longer have their father!"
