"Michiyo, I'm sorry about what my friend did." Todoroki was outside the cafe and Michiyo was seeing him off.
"It's okay. I'm sure he's just shy being in such a cute cafe."
"Huh..."
"Todoroki, here." She gave him a stamp card where a customer could come back for a free coffee. All stamps were stamped.
"Y-you're giving it to me?"
"Keita-san asked me to."
"O-oh. Right..."
"Hm~?" She innocently looked at his face, "If it makes you happier, I'm the one who asked Keita-san to give this to you as an apology for ruining your day."
"Huh? What...you didn't have to-"
"I wanted to. That's all there is."
Todoroki had no choice but to accept it when she put it that way.
"It says here at the bottom I can choose who makes my drink." Todoroki said after looking at the bottom of the small writing on the card. "Does that include you too?"
Michiyo nodded once, "Of course. I'll be waiting for you, Todoroki."
Todoroki smiled at her words and he nodded too. Tomorrow?"
"Oh? That's quick. You won't get bored of coming here after school?"
"I won't. I like this place a lot, it makes me feel calm when I am in the usual booth."
"I'm glad you feel that way. Then, I'll see you tomorrow."
...
That same night, she was watching Dabi try one of the cupcakes in the box. She made plain fairy cupcakes.
"You made these yourself?" Dabi asked, looking at the cupcakes in the delivery box. They were a gift from Keita for doing a good job. Dabi at first was a little worried about Michiyo getting a part time job, but it seemed like it's working for her since she's getting information as well as some cash. He took a bite from a cupcake.
Michiyo eagerly looked at him, eager to know of his opinion about her baking skills. Dabi imagined that if she had a tail as long as a dog's, he'd imagine it'd be wagging left and right over and over again.
"It's good."
Michiyo was happy to hear that. "Next time, let's find a new place where there is a nice oven. I'll make whatever you want."
"You don't have to."
"It's better than take out or processed food, Dabi. Also, I like seeing you eat what I make. It feels like we are back at Father's home." She missed ichinose, she wondered how he was doing. She wanted to write letters back to him, but she didn't want to put Dabi at risk. All she could do was hope Dabi will finish what he wanted, and then hopefully return home as promised.
"Do you miss it back there, Michiyo?" He poked the half-eaten cupcake to her lips, wanting her to give it a try too.
Michiyo took a small bite. She touched her cheeks as she chewed the cupcake she had made. "Hmm~, not bad for my first time."
Dabi pulled her to his lap, "Speaking of first time, you still remember the first time we connected for real?" When he asked her that, he tried to kiss her on the lips, but Michiyo pressed the palm of her hand gently against his lips. He watched her kiss the back of her own hand.
