"Psst." The unknown voice drew your attention away from the work you were supposed to do. You looked up to be met with a familiar face. "Do you understand number four? I can't understand a thing." She said, pointing at her work.

"The missing variable is the a." You informed after re-reading the question. "Is that enough?"

"More than enough!" The girl cheerily said, writing some things down. "Thanks!" She then looked down at her work before lifting her head up again and doing a double take. "Hold on, you're the one who killed that ghoul at school, right?"

"Yeah. And you're the one from the hallway. You forgot your binder or something." You answered, finally realizing from where you knew her face. "You look awfully young to be in eleventh grade."

"Yup! What can I say? I've got a baby face and I'm really small. Not the best duo, at times. But at least I still get to go trick-or-treating without being judged! My name's Roma, by the way. Roma Hoito."

"(Y/N) (L/N)." You answered. She extended her hand and you shook it, smiling at her while doing it. After retracting her hand, she glanced a few desks over, where Urie was glaring at her like she had just insulted his entire bloodline.

"Your friend doesn't like people very much, does he?" She laughed. You shook your head, apologizing for his behaviour. "It's fine, he doesn't scare me." Now that's a new one. Never have you ever met someone that hasn't been scared of Kuki at least once (usually the first time they see/meet him).

"That's rather impressive." You complimented.

"What can I say? I'm full of surprises." She winked at you and was about to add something else before the teacher started scolding her for A) interrupting a student who was working and B) talking during a work period. She took it like a champ though and simply apologized before giving you a quick eyeroll and continuing her work.

"Are you going to the volleyball game tonight?" Roma asked, leaning on your desk. She had been in a conversation with you for the last five minutes straight. Seriously, this girl was hellbent on befriending you. It was sort of sketchy, considering you sort of suspected her to be allied with the ghoul that killed your parents.

"I'd like to, but I've got training after school and a sort of homework session with my friends. 'Cause you know, we're responsible." You answered with a hint of sarcasm.

"About that." Urie butted in, giving Roma a menacing stare before continuing. "Haise said tonight we're working in teams of two."

"Of course we're a team." You deadpanned. "You refuse to cooperate with anyone else."

In the back of the class, Shirazu loudly complained about being stuck with Sassan again. Oh, well. It's his problem, not yours. And it's not even that bad, Haise was a good opponent. An excellent one, actually.

"You guys are quinxes, right?!" Roma excitedly asked. There's no way to butt this girl out of the conversation, is there? Better luck next time, Kuki. "That's awesome! So are you guys actually ghouls?! Or like, super humans? Can you still eat human food? Do you think anyone can sign up for the program?"

"The program's already closed. We don't accept anyone else." Urie coldly answered.

"Aww..." The young brunette frowned. For an instant, you thought Kuki had done it. "Oh my gosh, did you hear about the lockers in alley A? Apparently, someone splashed them with red paint and they didn't even get punished for it!"

Whoop, there she went again.

"Sounds like vandalism if you ask me. Right Urie?"

"I think I found the undercover ghoul." You finally informed at dinner. "She's in my math class."

"What?!" Ginshi exclaimed. "You mean Roma?"

"She smells pretty strongly." You shrugged.

"Can't be her." The blonde shook his head. "She's small and cute, with the little ponytail and all! I can't see her as a ghoul."

"It's not a question of if they look like a ghoul." Urie cut in. "Like (Y/N) said, she smells strongly like a ghoul. I think I detected some human blood too."

"Yeah, I smelt a bit of that too." You agreed.

"Her name seems familiar." Haise agreed. "Hold on, I'll go check something." He then excused himself and went up to the document room on the second floor, returning with a folder in hand. "I was right, her name did ring a bell." He opened the folder to read it.

"It says here, she was held at Cochlea but busted out a few years ago thanks to Aogiri."

"You gotta be really dumb to not change your name after busting out of Cochlea." Shirazu muttered, still shocked.

"Maybe she wants to go back!" Saiko joked.

"No one wants to go back to Cochlea." Haise absentmindedly said in a rather... scary tone. Does he have bad memories of that place or something?

"Well then, what do we do?" You asked.

"We're going to inform the main office."

"Well duh, Sassan, but I mean about Roma. It's going to be sort of tough to act like we know nothing about her past now. Especially for Ginshi, considering how he acted when he had no idea who the ghoul was."

"Hey! I wasn't that bad!" The shark boy argued.

"I'm impressed that you didn't snap your neck with how often you had to take a look at your surroundings to ensure that the ghoul wouldn't pounce on you." You sassed.

"I was just making sure not to let my guard down, at least I--"

"Enough." Sasaki interrupted. "No fighting you two." He scolded as if he caught you arguing with your non-existent sibling. "I'll inform you all when we'll have a plan. And I expect you all to follow it this time." His gaze fell on Urie who simply looked away, uninterested.

"It's sort of weird to think that there's a ghoul in our math class, right?" Ginshi asked.

"N-"

"That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard you say, and you've said some dumb shit." Urie snapped before getting up and leaving. You watched him go until he was out of your view before turning to your colleagues.

"Alright, who pissed off Kuki while I wasn't looking?"
