Last January I saw the beautiful statue of Nathan Hale in front of the Tribune Tower in Chicago.
I went back to Chicago today and one of my plans in the tourist district was to revisit the memorial and take a picture in front of it. (When I first saw it I was too shocked and emotional to even think of taking a picture with it.)
It's a lovely little piece of history that takes up barely any space in the city. BUT APPARENTLY HES NOT IMPORTANT ENOUGH TO THE PEOPLE OF CHICAGO. There's construction on the Tribune Tower so they blocked off everything including the statue and I almost started crying.
I was peeking through the cracks in the barricade they had set up and it looks like the statue is gonnnne??????
Anyway I'm pissed.
Long live Nathan Hale.
