8.) Spelling Bee

Today in class there was a spelling bee.
You are relatively good at spelling, but you know that a lot of other people in your class are too.
Everyone starts up in a line in the front of the class at first. You saw Ruby skip over to Gilbert's side. You ended up on the whole other side of the line.
"Josie, your word is flower." Me Phillips says.
"F-l-l-o-w-e-r." She says proudly.
"Wrong sit down." Mr Phillips says.
The look on Josie's face was priceless, you almost burst out laughing.
He went on and on, leading up to the last 5 people. The last 5 people were You, Anne,Moody,Gilbert and Diana.
"Diana, your word is extraordinary." Mr Phillips says.
"E-x-t-r-o-r-d-I-n-a-r-y." Diana says.
"Wrong sit down." Mr Phillips says.
Moody got out and then Anne, surprisingly.
"Gilbert, your word is beautiful." Mr. Phillips said.
"B-e-a-u-t-I-f-u-l." Gilbert speller staring at you the whole time and smiling.
You could see Anne and Diana fangirling in their seats.
"Y/n your word is accountable." Mr. Phillips says.
"A-c-c-o-u-n-t-a-b-l-e." You say.
This goes on for another hour until lunch time comes.
"My goodness, you two are both such smart kids." Mr. Phillips.
Everyone got their stuff for lunch and headed out. You and Gilbert sit by your tree in the back corner.
"You should have won." Gilbert said.
"And why is that?" You ask.
"Because I don't know how I got the words right when I was distracted staring at you." He says.
You smile at the ground and blush a little. Then Anne and Diana jump out from behind the tree scaring you both. Gilbert jumps a little. You end up falling backwards and doing a summersault, landing on your stomach looking like a starfish.
"Hi guys." Diana says giggling.
"Oh...hey." You say sarcastically.
"Can we sit here today?" Anne Asks.
"Sure." Gilbert says.
"Girls are being very mean as always." Diana says.
"And guess what their main topic today was." Anne says obviously staring at you.
"They're also planning on making everybody play spin the bottle." Diana says.
"That'll be fun." You say sarcastically.
"Well we best be going back now we have to talk to Cole too." Anne says.
"Thanks for letting us sit with a while." Diana says and then they leave.
"I'll play spin the bottle if you do y/n." Gilbert says.
"What if you end up kissing somebody you don't like?" You Asks.
"Don't worry, I got Lady Luck on my side." He says winking at you.
When lunch was over, Mr Phillips decided to just have the spelling bee be a tie instead of going on forever with it.
When school in all was over you skipped home and went to bed. Then you swiftly got up to say goodnight to your dad.
"Goodnight dad, hope you're doing ok. And I know you might not want me to say this but, please let Gilbert be the boy I kiss tomorrow. Love you." You say smiling and going to sleep thinking Gilbert Blythe.
