I spent hours writing this and rewriting it lol. I had to do a bunch of sugarcoating because I really don't want authors to come along bleating at me because they got offended.

Even so I tried leaving as much sass I could to make this chapter entertaining :')

DISCLAIMERS:

1) I’m not specifically targeting any individual fanfics. I’m talking about clichés that have happened multiple times.

2) Not all these clichés are necessarily as bad as you might think. Only if you use them in the wrong way.

3) Some clichés aren’t very common, but they still pop out anyway.

4) I won’t include one-shots. One-shots include reader inserts with aspects that are not okay in actual fics, but fine in one-shots themselves. E.g. romantic aspects.

5) When I say everyone, I don’t literally mean everyone. Just most writers who use these clichés.

6) The manner I’m writing in may seem insulting. Well, yes, maybe. But please understand that I don’t mean everything I say about these clichés. It’s just for entertainment purposes.

See, I even had to write 6 disclaimers. Phew. Hard work hhhhh

So, let's get started on this.

In fanfics without OCs, the main character is always Riku or Tenn.
> Not all of i7 is centred around these two. Come on.

Tenn abandoned the Nanase family.
> And almost everyone who wrote about this seems to forget that Tenn refused to separate from them at first. Tenn isn’t that heartless, guys.

Iori only ever scolds Riku.
> Remind me who manages Tamaki’s school life.

Tamaki eats pudding practically 24/7.
> Yes, he’s addicted to pudding, but not to the point where he always appears eating pudding.

Speaking of pudding …

Osama Pudding.
> I’m not even sure whether to laugh or cry at this. It’s ousama, if you want to get all Japanese, or King Pudding. Not freaking bin Laden. This isn’t on Wattpad, but I’ve seen this several times on Quotev and I thought I’d share this bit because it’s kind of funny xD In case you don’t know what I’m talking about, look up Osama.

Japanese.
> “Hajimemashite!” “Yoroshiku onegaishimasu!” You get what I’m saying?

No Izumi brothers moments.
> Why does no one really care about Mitsuki except to have him randomly pop up to cook or bake a cake? Give the guy some love. Stop putting Iori with Riku together all the time; he loves his brother too.

Nagi’s broken Japanese.
> Isn’t this a little hard to describe when you’re writing in English? What you can do is highlight the way he just says certain words in a weird way. Work it out.

In fanfics with OCs, the OC is the main character.
> Not a bad thing. I don’t really see much of a problem here honestly. If you want to spin a whole story about your OC in the i7 world, why not?

The OC is a girl 99.99% of the time.
> Can’t you have a male OC? Or at least multiple OCs. OCs that include both male and female ones. I sense extreme prejudice against males. Or maybe it’s the fact that the author wants a reverse harem of canons for her OC.

The OC always has to be pretty.
> And average-looking girls can all go roast in hell. I honestly don’t know what to say.

The OC is always capable of doing almost everything.
> No one is perfect. That’s all I can say. Sure, Tenn, Sogo and Iori are very capable males. But honestly that’s insane enough as it is and we don’t need an OC to add fuel to the flames.

The OC is clumsy and kinda stupid, but always called “cute”.
> *gets out bucket and starts puking rainbows*
> Clumsiness + stupidity ≠ cute. There are other ways to be cute. You don’t even have to make your OC cute at all. Badass independent women need more attention. Quiet Tsundere guys need more attention. *cough* IORI *cough*

To summarize the last four points, the OC is a Mary-Sue.
> SOUND THE ALARMS THE BRITISH ARE COMING BANANA POTATO

The OC is orphaned/abandoned/adopted.
> This is NOT Batman. Or any crummy DC comic backstory. Unless this relates to something important in the story, forget about this cliché. People with stable families exist too.

The OC falls in love with either Riku, Sogo or TRIGGER.
>  Stop forgetting about the other decent boys to fall for. Also, the whole falling in love thing is starting to get old. Why not have an OC who doesn’t fall in love at all? Or even have an accidental love scandal. Actually the love scandal would be a pretty good twist. Kinda like what I’m probably gonna do in my fanfi - Ahem.

Oh, by the way. More than half the time. How do the OCs manage to fall in love with them? Well, …

The OC is a music composer for TRIGGER.
> Seriously, I feel like every single Reader x TRIGGER book has this. They can't very well put the OC as i7's composer because Haruki Sakura is. So the next best thing: TRIGGER. NO! Think about it this way. Why would Sousuke hire a young girl with only skills and no experience to write TRIGGER’s songs? Look at what happened to the old composer.

Oh wait. I think I know why.

Sousuke Yaotome never makes an appearance.
> This is why. In fact …

The presidents never make appearances.
> Why?? I know Sousuke’s a bit of a dirt wipe but really. Otoharu is a nice old guy with a Kinako. Why can’t either of them get a little bit of time on the pages?

But lmao feel free to kick Tsukumo from your book. Pretend your story happens before Part 2. Also that guy is a total slime bucket.

“Colour”-ette.
> If you’re using this term only during the part where the character makes their first appearance, I guess it’s fine. But really, there’s no need to repeat this term over and over again thorough the story. Characters have names. Also, only “brunette” is a proper term, but “bluenettes”, “purplettes” and god knows what keep popping up. I swear to god if I actually catch sight of a “redette” or a “goldette” or something I’m gonna shred my pillows with my teeth. It's redhead and blond.

Re:vale.
> Where the heck did they go? Re:vale needs some attention.

The managers.
> Only Tsumugi makes appearances. Where are Banri, Anesagi and Rinto? Their lack of appearances on Wattpad is astonishing. You’d think Banri would have a bit more time on the pages.

See, I wrote more than a thousand words already. Look how hard Kris has worked *kris shut up no one wants to know*

But yeah, here are the common clichés that occur in the i7 writing fandom :3 And just to be clear, this doesn't mean I don't use those clichés. Maybe I might use a few of them ;) So feel free to flame me on PM if I do that.

Right. I think that's all for now. Time to do more research for my next chapter. //P.S. This research is killing me I'm forced to reread Part 3 nuuuuu ;-;

The things I do to entertain my readers. Yeet.

Until next time! Seeya~
