There are multiple theories for The Fairly Odd Parents, and not very widely accepted one, here are a few;
1. Timmy is severely abused by his parents and adults, and his creepy teacher (Crocker) has sexually assaulted him. His fairies are make believe and are there to help him cope.
2. Timmy's godparents died, and since they were the only adults that understood him, he created the fairies in his head to cope.
3. Timmy is schizophrenic, and has obsessions with the colors pink and green (Colors of Cosmo and Wanda, the fairies.) Only his parents and teacher know about his imaginary fairies. His friends hang out with him solely based on the fact that they feel sorry for him.
