So these theories are weird for me, as I can't really imagine Spongebob as having anything to do with these theories, but some people are convinced. Poor Spongebob gets so many critics anyway...
1) Spongebob and all his friends are mutants because of radiation due to nuclear testing. This testing actually happened on Bikini Atoll (hence the name "Bikini Bottom" and idea for this theory). This one might have a hint of truth, because the creator of the show was a former marine biologist. Or maybe the creator just wanted to portray what he thought would personalities of the different sea characters?
2) . Spongebob and his friends all reflect personalities of people addicted to drugs:
Spongebob is on meth, always happy but sometimes sad, he goes from immediate ups to immediate downs.
Patrick loved weed, dumb and dull, always relaxed.He eats and laughs at dumb things.
Squidward is on heroin; he is annoyed by everything, always down, and yells at spongebob and Patrick.
Sandy is an alcoholic, and is moody.
Mr. Krabs is addicted to cocaine because he's always uppity and obsessed with money.
