Then you come along
You mend my brokenness
And help me to my feet
And before I know it
I'm on top of the building again
And yet again
The wind blows
Trying to push me off the edge
But this time
I brace myself
I don't want to fall
And get hurt
A second time
I try to back away from the edge
But something stops me
I hear your voice
Calling to me from below
"I will never break your heart
I swear"
Slowly
I move towards the side of the building
I picture the times we've talked for hours
The times you've held me when I cried
The times you stuck by my side
When no one else would
"I'll never hurt you"
You whisper this in my ear
As I drift off to sleep one night
I never remembered until now
Then
I
Fall
And yet again
The feeling is amazing
Only this time
It doesn't end with brokenness
Instead I land in your arms
And
In your heart

Harry walked in the Great Hall, followed by Ron and Hermione.
He held his head high, looking ahead of him and not stopping to look into anybody's eyes as he walked past the younger students, who looked at him with various amounts of adoration.
He couldn't take it anymore, he just needed to be somewhere where people wouldn't look at him, where they wouldn't point and stare and whisper and giggle madly. He just needed to be around people who wouldn't treat him differently because of who he was. He just needed some bloody peace.
He didn't pay much mind to the whispers as he walked to the end of the Gryffindor table. He felt the stares burning at the back of his head but took a seat without looking into anybody's eyes.
Ron was huffing and looking around the Great Hall. "Honestly, do these people have nothing better to do that stare at us?"
Hermione linked her fingers with his, and smiled softly at the redhead.
They had gotten together over the summer, and were as happy as anyone could be. Harry was so happy for them, and kind of relieved that they wouldn't be skirting around each other anymore, but he had to admit to himself that he was jealous that they had finally found someone to be with.
