y/n was a soc, she couldn't change that and she wished she could she hated it. her friends sucked and so did the boys that went for her. her mother and father were greasers, they died couple years ago in a plane crash. she lives with her aunt nancy, nancy was a horrible crude woman, she changed y/n for the worse. she made her wear dresses, made her talk 'proper.' and even made her stop hanging out with her friends who where greasers. she was best friends with ponyboy and sodapop and was apart of curtis gang. her aunt said "if you talk to them again i'll send you off to boarding school." so she told the boys who said they understood and they grew apart.
one day, her aunt made her wear this pink flowery dress with pink socks and a bow in her hair. as you would have guessed y/n hated it. y/n devised a plan earlier that day, she packed her spare clothes that where very much a 'greaser.' statement piece which her aunt hadn't thrown out because she hid it under mattress.
she walked into school, converse, jeans with rips and tears here and there, white muscle shirt and of course her leather jacket her father gave her.
she went to her grandfathers house to collect her dad's harley before school, he hadn't gained custody because he was battling being put in a home. she rode it to school, people gawking.
as she walked into school, all of her old greaser friends smiled. her almost old boyfriend johnny cade smiled. she finally did it. she finally snapped. he thought.
she walked over to dallas winston. "give me a cigarette will ya pal?" she said, she had known him since they where young. he smirked nodding.
"here ya go." she took the cancer stick and lit it up, she smoked it and walked down the hall in attempts to find johnny and ponyboy.
she saw them talking by pony's locker.
"hey boys." she said softly.
they looked over not expecting y/n to be standing there.
they both walked closer and gave her a hug saying how badass she was and that she looked tuff.
"i think nancy is going to kick me out." she said sighing.
"not if you go back home wearing what you where supposed to." johnny said positively.
"good thing i kept it in my bag." she replied.
"aye pony, johnnycakes." she grabbed there attention as they walked down the hall.
"i'm sorry about how i stopped hanging out with you guys. i miss you all, and i hope you understand i hated wearing dresses and being with all the soc's. i am a greaser and you guys know it." she says sadly.
pony and johnny stop in there tracks.
"y/n we will always love you no matter how you have to act. no matter if you dress like a soc, we know that if we needed you, you would stop being a soc and would get kicked out of the house just to help. and we love you for that. no matter what category people put you in you, will always be apart of gang." pony says.
"man i love you guys." y/n says.
it was the afternoon and y/n had changed back into her soc clothes and walked with the boys to the dx telling nancy on the pay phone that she was studying at the library.
she saw sodapop working on a old looking mustang, it was a dark blue colour and boy was it gorgeous.
she walked over and nudged him, he turned around to see y/n standing there.
"pepsi." she said.
"milkshake." he said using his old nickname. they soon wrapped each other into a hug, she teared up a little as they did so, so did soda.
