solitary island

my worn toes wiggled in the scorching sand
i anticipated on the cool waves to come and kiss them again
this solitary island i stand rests on a populous sea of wonder
overflowing with bodies, relationships, conversations and laughter
and i like to dream that i'm there in a little corner mimicking their smiles and humming their choir
it seems i'm from the sun but i wish i was born from the water
i am too weak and introverted to be a carefree child of honor
but they wash the legs of a lonesome daughter
so i hug my knees on the beach listening to them sing
hiding in the sun and sitting on my ring
i would almost dive in to weld but those attempts were on a whim
i will be lonely until i teach myself how to swim.

hello again!
i felt the need for another clarification..
this is a giant comparison of being lonely to being alone on a teeny weeny island not being able to swim... yet
so it's just me off by myself watching people interact wishing i could join them but i'm afraid of rejection and judgement..
if you are confused about any of my phrases in any of my writing just ask and i'll explain the best i can!

thank you for reading! 💘
