My First Tinder Date

Looks like I'm being stood up on the first date.

I guess I'm eating alone today. 

At least the food tastes great.

But that doesn't make it okay for you not to say. 

I've been waiting for a response all afternoon.

Now I have nothing left but this pasta on the plate and these words on the page.

You would have been my first tinder date.

It's crazy to think this is the world we live in. 

Swipe right if her profile looks relate-able.

Even though you can't trust she's date-able. 

I miss the old days when you had to call your crush's land line.

Hoping their parents wouldn't pick up the phone in time. 

That was a more simple approach.

Like when all we wanted was a check inside the box that said I like you a lot. 

Now it's about writing the best punch line.

Then maybe I'll get the match I want inside my mind. 

But then I'd be conforming to the social norm.

And I'm not sure if I like that story. 

I've always been one to stand out.

So I guess I'll be the one to leave my hand out.
