Imagine meeting your favorite dark turtle by accident!

It was far too late for you to be out, especially in this part of the city. But try telling your hard ass of a boss that...Late hours meant late errands which is how you ended up alone at nearly one in the morning, arms loaded with shopping bags. The sound of your footsteps slapping on the pavement echoed in the cold night and you shivered. And stopped when you heard a loud clatter coming from the dark corner behind you, followed by quiet cursing. Quickly, you turned around ready to fight and scream and shout. Your quick movement allowed you to catch the strangest alien you had ever seen attempting to duck behind the building.

"What are you doing?" You asked.

The fear you felt didn't show in your voice, the question echoing with confidence. And it was enough to get him to step out of the shadows and into the light...

~

Shit.

He had been so careful, so quiet and cautious. And he had planned it all so perfectly too, having watched her for a while now and having memorized her normal habits. All he had to do was wait until she went to her keys out of her purse then make off with her groceries. Maybe it was stealing (okay, it definitely was stealing) but she could afford to buy more. And his brothers were hungry...

He was too, hungrier then he had realized. And perhaps that was why he had gotten caught, the savory scents from the bags getting into his head. It was his own damn fault. The human glared into the shadows, her small face painted with defiance.

"What are you doing?"

He should run. He should get out of there right now and just forget the whole thing, find another, easier target. But he didn't. Instead, Leo found himself stepping into the light. For such a small thing, she didn't seemed too concerned that she was staring up at a giant, blue turtle holding a massive weapon. Instead, she looked a little annoyed.

"What's the idea, following me around like this?" She asked him.

Leo wasn't sure what to say, only shrugging as he eyed her bags. Could he just grab them and go? What if she reported it? Would thier others hear about it?

"No answer now that you're caught? Honestly, guys like you make me nuts. What, you're not even gonna apologize?" She demanded.

Why in the world was she talking to him like this? Why wasn't she scared of him?

"I just wanted some food."

And why was he telling her that? But his answer seemed to make her a little less annoyed and she put down a couple of bags.

"Well, go on then. Take them."

Unsure if this was a trick, Leo quickly darted forward to snatch up the bags and moved back, eyeing her carefully. She didn't make s move at him, didn't attack him or take the m back. Instead she just turned away, calling over her shoulder,

"Next time, just ask okay?"

Next time, next time...Leo wasn't sure what that meant. And instead of hanging around to ask, he ran into the shadows and back home. It had been a strange experience but at least he and his brothers would eat well for a while.
