“What the hell is wrong with you?” Rehaan asked angrily as he barged into the room Anu was occupying. He stopped in his tracks when he saw Kuhu was there too, and noticed she was already having a faceoff with his sister. There was a moment of awkwardness and Anu was the first one to break off the silence.

“Is this a way to enter someone's room? Can't you knock, like everyone?” she asked annoyingly.

‘‘Anu. What was that downstairs? Why did you even lie to everyone in the first place?’’

“What are you taking about Rehaan?” she asked, nonchalantly.

“Do not take that innocent air with me Anu. We both know every well that you do not have any friend who is a doctor! ” he shouted, closing the door behind him.

‘‘I knew it!’’ Kuhu peeped in, pointing a finger at her. “I knew it was an evil plan of yours. Anu I told you to leave them alone.”

“You asked a random friend of yours to do this act, right? Or maybe, did you hire someone? To tell everyone, she is pregnant?” Rehaan asked her again.

“Oh please. Stop chewing off my brain, both of you.”

“No, you stop it, Anu. What was the need to do that? You used what I told you about them, against them. I wonder in what state Mahir must be.” Kuhu was exasperated.

“What?’’ Rehaan asked flabbergasted. “What was the need to even talk about it in the first place? That is none of your business, to start with!”

Kuhu and Rehaan looked at each other angrily, but she knew better than to reply back, because indeed she was very well aware, she was at fault too.

“Not against them, Kuhu. I did that for Mahir.” Anu drew them back to the situation at hand. “We all know here, these two don’t share a marital relationship. So, I am just helping him a little, so he can see her true colors and deduce she is not the one for him.”

Both Kuhu and Rehaan were flabbergasted by her talking.

“How would you know that Anu? I never said anything about this! I just said they seemed to be in conflict!”

“Anu, what do you mean by Bela's true colors?! What do you want to imply by this?” Rehaan asked in between, being on the edge. ‘‘You do not know anything about the relation they share so you do not need to comment about it. And how did you become like this? Manipulative and liar? ’’

“Oh Reh, please! Don’t you start blaming me now! You know what? It is all your fault! You are right Kuhu! You said, to be precise, “in conflict since Rehaan came here!” So instead on getting on my nerves, it’s him who should worry about, and ask him why he suddenly wanted to come back here!”

“What bullshit is this? Why am I the reason of this disaster suddenly?” Rehaan asked with a frown. He was really confused now. He couldn't understand what his sister was saying.

Kuhu looked at him with a blank face. As Anu's words started sinking in, she could feel herself literally burn with anger.

“Now, do not look at me that!” Rehaan fired back at her. “Explain now! What does she mean by this?”

“Reh, what she implied, was that….”

“Shut up Anu!!” Kuhu interrupted her, ‘‘I can talk for myself.” Then she turned to Rehaan and pointed a finger at him. ‘‘This is true . Ever since you came here, Mahir has been miserable. You are always glued to Bela or being too friendly with her. And you are way too comfortable with each other, since you barely know each other!’’

“So what? Can't a boy and a girl be friends?! And ehat do you know about us barely knowing each other or not?” he asked irritated.

‘‘So you do know her then, way before her mariage with Mahir! You are being so confident.’’

Rehaan smacked himself mentally for his slip of tongue.

“Yes Rehaan,” Anu faced him. “Come on. We grew up together. I know you, and you've never ever been interested with any girl. Now suddenly, you want to come back here and I learn from Kuhu how you are behaving aroung Bela. Even Mahir asked me some weird questions when he came to pick me up. Now I know why he was asking anf what he wanted to know.”

Rehaan was shocked with this twist of the situation. He never expected to be the reason of the rift between Bela and Mahir. All he wanted when he decided to come back here, was to finally confess his love for Kuhu. He had finally come to accept his feelings and he knew  Bela was the only person he could trust and that could help him. But he never thought everything would be turned upside down when Anu decided to accompany him . He had his reasons to be here, but he never suspected hers. He just thought she wanted to see everyone here. But oh how wrong he had been.

‘‘What did you tell Mahir exactly?’’ he asked his sister, but his eyes remained on Kuhu. He could see this latter face change from anger to another expression he couldn't decipher.

“Of course I told him the truth.’’ Anu said immediately. “I just told him I know there's someone who means a lot to you but I don't know whom. But now adding everything together, that girl must be Bela right? That is the conclusion he must have come with too. Just like us. Right, Kuhu?”

“Are you out of your mind? Oh god! I can't believe this Anu! There's something not right in your head. Why would you tell him that?! No wonder the guy is in this state! Now you used what Kuhu told you to pull up this pregnant shit!” Rehaan ran a hand through his hair, with frustration. He was angry at Anu but also worried about Bela. He knew she would have a hard time to make Mahir understand, specially after the many times he caught them together. But he knew the guy was an intelligent and logical one, and that his friend will end up making him believe her. He suddenly realized Kuhu would be thinking the worst of him too. He had to make her understand that Bela wasn't the one who was closed to his heart, and that by no means, he was here to create in her brother's home. He turned around to give her an explanation.

‘‘Kuhu, that's not… ’’

He never got to do so, as Kuhu was already at the door. She stopped at the doorstep and turned around. The look on her face broke his heart to pieces and before he could react, she was already gone.
