at the end of inunaki-mura part 1, i mentioned that i'd like to publish chapter after every arc showing some of the 'behind the scenes' things related to the said arc, such as doodles, sketches and drabbles.
some of you showed interest in and approved of the idea, so why not?
i am gonna take this chance to mention kuchisake-onna arc and say that i don't really have much written about it, which is why i will not make the 'behind the scenes' chapter for it.
kuchisake-onna is an urban legend that is already very specific and has its form, truth and reason pretty much stated already, so it wasn't that hard to write.
inunaki-mura, on the other hand, was much more challenging and required more planning for me to do beforehand.
i liked the idea of inunaki-mura and i did a lot of research on it, but always ended up empty-handed. everything i found about this urban legend lead to it just being a lonely village full of messed up stuff, with gates having signs to keep away from it.
maybe there was more stuff about it that i just couldn't find but, heh, too late now.
anyway, that entire situation about the briefness of inunaki-mura made it both hard and easy for me. it was hard because it had been difficult to find enough information to stay loyal and pay attention to, as well to base off of, but it was easy because i had so much freedom to create a setting and characters needed to fill it all up nicely.
needless to say, i enjoyed writing notes for this arc;

but what i enjoyed the most was making mitsumi.
originally, back in 2017, she was supposed to be an old woman who had given birth to pretty much the entire village, which would be born out of incest between her and her brother. she would have depression and would be very, very dark woman, which would make her a mononoke in the first place, with the ability to have the entire village wrapped around her little finger.
she was supposed to look something like this;

however, i gave up on that idea eventually and as i was writing the part 1 of inunaki-mura arc, it just hit me that she could be a freaking statue. which makes no damn sense but why the hell not? so, i changed her character design and decided to go with something younger and more attractive, because stuff;

and so, the picture on the right is how i imagine her to be, and i decided that would be her official design.
i remained loyal to my idea that she would engage into incest and run off with her brother, only to have her grief spread onto the village and turn her into mononoke.
but yeah, that's pretty much everything about the inunaki-mura arc.
