what I've heard about names like Shouto or Bakugou is that people don't know if they should put the 'u' in or not. My answer is that you DO need the 'u' unless the 'o' looks like this: ō.
ō is kinda like a shorter version of/ pronounced like ou so unless you have the line above the 'o' then it's spelt with an 'ou'.
I hope this makes sense. For example, Todoroki's first name could be spelled either 'Shouto' or 'Shōto' and both are correct. Same with 'Bakugou' and 'Bakugō'. Other names will most likely have the same rule.
