-chapter 13 ➵ i'm scared-

Yejin's POV

Haechan and I went downstairs when Nanny called us that the food is ready. "Do you like spicy chicken wings?" I asked Haechan while we made our way downstairs.

"Not my favorite but I eat." He replied. I nodded and shrugged. We sat on the unoccupied chairs in the dining room and Nanny placed the plate of spicy chicken wings on the table.

Nanny smiled at me and Haechan. "Enjoy eating." I raised a brow at her. "Aren't you going to eat, Nanny?" I asked. She shook her head. "Chanhee told me Minju is already searching for me. I need to get home now."

"I wish you could stay longer." I pouted. She chuckled and ruffled my hair. "You're not the only kid I'm going to take care of, Yejin. See you." She kissed my hair and left. "Oh, and Haechan,"

"Yes?"

"Don't do anything to my little panda or I'll smack you." Haechan chuckled. "I won't, Ma'am!" He said. "Dear, call me Nanny."

"Nanny!" She just laughed. "See you again, Nanny!" Haechan said and waved his hand goodbye. I heard Nanny close the door of my apartment.

In my peripheral vision, Haechan looked at me and smirked. "She's gone." I looked at him innocently and raised a brow. "So what if she's gone?" I asked.

"Aw, come on, Yejin. You know what I mean." He said, raising his eyebrows up and down. I rolled my eyes and shoved a wing in his mouth. He bit a part and pulled the wing out.

He fanned his mouth because of the spiciness. "Oh my Gof. Eht's so spiceh." I just laughed at him. "That's what happens if you're trying to bend Nanny's rules." I said and stood up to get him a glass of water.

I gave him it after pouring some in the glass. He gulped all the contents down. He sighed heavily after drinking. "That almost burned my tongue!"

I sticked out my tongue at him. "You deserved that. If you hadn't stopped, I could've told Nanny about your bad behavior." I said and sat back to my seat. He just pouted. I covered my mouth and pointed at his lips.

"It's red." He rolled his eyes at me. "Obviously. I just ate the spiciest chicken wing in my entire life. Does your Nanny make this like extra spicy?" He asked and I nodded. "Yeah. I got used to it when I was eleven."

"You've been eating spicy chicken wings this spicy?!" He asked unbelievably. "Yeah, and you don't need to worry. Maybe this is your first and last eating Nanny's spicy chicken wings," I said.

"By the way, you look like you applied lipstick on your lips." I added. He just glared at me and still fanned his mouth. While he was busy fanning his burnt mouth, I glanced at the wall clock and saw that it was already 8:28.

I looked at him. "Aren't you going home yet?" He shook his head and ate up. "Eh, why?"

"I wanna stay a bit longer, and you just ate 1/4 of the food. I can't let these babies go to waste." He said and took more of the spicy chicken wings. I chuckled while looking at him munch.

I rolled my eyes. "I don't have all night to talk to you, nor keep you company. You should go home after you eat. That's free dinner already." I said and chuckled.

He raised the chicken wing and smiled while his mouth is full. "Tell your Nanny I said thanks for the food." I just nodded and waited for him to finish.

When he did, he just chilled on the couch. "You're supposed to go home." I muttered and dragged him out of my apartment. "Go home. Take care, dummy." I ruffled his hair this time and slowly closed the door.

My phone suddenly buzzed. I took it out and Haechan sent me a freaking message.

I closed my phone and went upstairs to my room. While in the middle of the stairs, my phone buzzed again.
