Vampire's Kiss

Chapter Nine

(Dipper)

Bill teleports the three of us back to the complex.

He carefully opens the door and holds checks each door.

"This hallway is clear. Strange there aren't any bodies..." he says.

"Do you think they took them? The Toxic Fangs I mean..." I ask.

"Perhaps... Or-"

He gasps.

"We have to leave," he says sharply.

Will bites his lip.

"You don't mean..."

Bill nods at his brother.

"There's an Ultra Feral, a beast that kills anything that moves," Bill says bitterly.

A loud roar echoes in the dim hallway.

My friends run out of the doors, but I stay, entranced by the sound.

Just a little closer child...

Come to me.

I blink.

"Wh-Who said that?" I ask out loud.

"Dipper! Come on!" Bill says, tugging on my arm.

"No... I have to stay."

"Are you insane?! You'll be killed. You can't-"

"There's something calling to me."

"What?"

Come to me.

...Please.

I run towards the sound, ignoring Bill's voice.

I find what I'm guessing is the Ultra Feral, eating a dead vampire.

It's skin grey and rotting, the decaying creature slowly turns towards me.

The smell of blood and death fill my nose as it backs me against a wall.

The infected vampire sniffs me.

You... didn't run away.

"N-No... You sounded like you were in pain," I say.

The monster blinks.

You can understand me? You can hear me?

I nod.

The Ultra Feral snorts and backs away.

Kill me, half-blooded.

End my suffering.

I didn't choose to become this.

They made me.

"Who?" I ask it.

The scientists the Toxic Fangs work for.

They did this to me, and are going to do it to others.

They are sick.

You and your friends are our last hope.

The Ultra Feral hands me a stake.

I look into the monster's eyes.

They are filled with pain and suffering.

I nod and press the stake into its heart.
