5. DINNER PARTY

Val came back in no time and the both of us went to the mall. We started rummaging through the dresses and Val couldn't find anyone she called "appropriate" for me so I decided to choose myself.

I look through the dresses which I could say that I didn't like any of them until I found one that is hidden as if I was the only one meant to see it. I took it to the dressing room and tried it on. It was a black flowing gown that had a slit to my thigh and a deep neckline with an open back. I looked at myself and the dress was so perfect on me.

"What's taking you so long to try on that dress" I heard Val's impatient voice. I rolled my eyes and came out of the dresser

"Wow you look so amazing, this is just the perfect dress for the perfect you, look at those curves it's to kill for. I want a dress like this" she began throwing a tantrum

"C'mon the one you picked is okay, let's just pay for the dresses and go home"

She brought her tongue out in a childlike manner obviously trying to tease me, I just laughed at her actions and we got out of the mall

Friday came, Val and I went to my house to plan for the dinner party. I brought my phone out and texted Collins

Rad:.I'm sorry Collins I don't think I'll be able to make it today, I have a company dinner to attend so maybe next time

Collins: it's okay Rad I understand thanks for letting me know. Xoxo~

The text felt weird and I wanted to text Val about it but then that would just prove her right and she wouldn't shut up about it for the whole day.

The dinner was supposed to start at 6:00 and it was only 3 that means Val and I had three hours to get ready.
Val started her makeup , she did  a simple Gold eye shadow putting on some glitters on it that brought out her big doe eyes matching with nude lips, God she was beautiful. she continued with her hair and pulled it up into a loose bun leaving some strands to fall while I on the other hand just looked at her.

I was good on the whole simple makeup thing but for a dinner party I would be consider not good enough, and besides Val told me to stay put.

After finishing hers she came to me " c'mon rad why the face" she asked getting worried about me

"No it's nothing just don't take too much time like you did on yours because it's tiring" she rolled her eyes at my statement and sat me in front of the dresser after covering the mirror

My hair was pinned and tied upwards and after what felt like eternity Val squealed and said she's done.
"You look so beautiful rad I can't believe this is you" I laughed at her silly jokes and wore my dress with a silver stilletoes matched with a silver clutch.

Val unveiled the mirror and I gasped barely recognising myself
"This is so beautiful Val I can barely recognize myself"
I was wearing a smokey eye with eyeliner and mascara that made my long lashes stand out coupled with nude lips, and my hair that was tied up was now let to flow down in waves. Not to brag but I look perfect.

"Mum I wish you could see your daughter right now" I mumbled to myself

"Alright let's go or we'll be late PA" Val pulled me out of my little episode.

We went downstairs, took the car and left to the venue.
We got out of the car to find the place so amazingly decorated and beautiful with lights hanging around everywhere.

"This place looks so amazing" Val said agreeing with my thoughts.
We went inside and eyes turned to look at us. I was shy but Val was perplexed, so I left her to go look for my boss when I hit a wall, I was about to fall when I felt a hand grab my waist and I look up to see the most beautiful blue eyes staring down at me and I couldn't tear my gaze away. It was as if I was enchanted looking at him

He steadied me and I made a mental note to myself that I didn't hit a wall. There he was standing in front of me looking at me from head to toe taking me all in as I also looked at him with his black tux that is strained in his body emphasising his muscles.
His hair was gelled backwards perfectly as if I hadn't seen him in a suit before.

"Miss Powers are you are done checking me  out so we can get to business" I heard his voice

"Oh Mr Gerrard don't play smart because you were checking me out also" I answered.
I heard a huge laugh coming from him and my jaw literally dropped to the floor. I've seen him smirked but not smile and certainly not laughing

" You should laugh a little sir it suits you" I commented and his face went stoic again. Maybe I shouldn't have said anything.

"Miss Powers I believe we are on the verge of buying Samarico internationals because their company is about to go bankrupt right?" He said in all business tone

"Yes sir I already set up a meeting with Mr Samarico for Monday to talk about the purchase" he nodded and asked me the most surprising question

" Miss Powers would u do me the honors by dancing with me?"

What is it with this man surprising me today, first he laughed and now this.
He offered his hand and I took it and we both went to the dance floor.
My hand was wrapped around his neck while his hands was resting below my waist.
He brought his hand and passed it through my bare back and I shivered not knowing why my body is betraying me this way and he smirked as if reading my thoughts

I'm not one to back down and since he wanted to play this game then two can play.
I ran my hand through his hair slightly tugging it and I felt a reaction from his body. I smile mentally giving myself a thumbs up

He turned me around as we continued dancing, this time my back was pressed against his front and I could feel his erection poking my ass.
He leaned above my ear and whispered "this is what you do to me miss Powers"

He swung me around and I felt the heat rise to my cheeks as we continued dancing only for it to be ruined by Collins taking over from him

I look at Collins and sent him a glare while we were dancing, if looks could kill I'm sure he would already be dead by now

"What are you doing here Collins?" I was furious and his face wasn't doing anything to calm me down

"Adrian is my friend remember and I came here today for him when I saw him dancing with a beautiful woman who seem to be the spotlight of today"

"Oh please Collins" I scoffed "you wouldn't have screwed this beautiful woman's friend on the bed that you and this beautiful woman shared" I told him
After giving him a piece of my mind I left him there to wallow in regret while I stomped off to go look for Val so we could go. This night has gone from hundred to zero real quick

I saw her having fun with some of our colleagues and I felt bad that I had to cut it short so I just told her I was leaving. She asked why but I shrugged and told her that I was pretty tired and left her there to enjoy

When I got home I took of my clothes, had a quick shower and throw on a shirt that stopped mid thigh since I didn't want to wear PJs today.

I plopped down on my bed and started reminiscing everything that happened at the party excluding Collins and I ended up going to bed with a smile on my face.

    Sorry for the late chapter guys I lost the inspiration to continue this story but I hope you like this chapter though
