Bakugou used his foot to push away from the wall as he saw a flash of her (h/c) hair coming around the corner.
He tried to squash down the feeling of relief he felt when he saw that she didn't seem upset, and instead had a content look in her eyes. As clichéd as it sounds, at that moment, Bakugou thought that she was almost... glowing.
He mentally shook away those thoughts before they could make him angry.
"Hey," she breathed as she stopped in front of him, looking at up at him with sparkling eyes.
"What," he snapped gruffly.
She rolled her eyes at him, but she couldn't contain her happy smile. "Nothing much! We can get going," she turned around, and he found himself raising his eyebrows.
"What the fuck? That's it?" he snapped.
"Sure, what were you expecting?" she questioned as he fell into step next to her.
He scoffed. "I don't fucking know, you tell me."
"Is that your way of questioning me about what happened without asking me directly?" she asked, shooting him a smile that told him he wasn't fooling her.
"For fuck's sake," he groaned, "just fucking-"
"Things like this take time, I think. And it's been so long already," she said, looking away suddenly, her smile dimming slightly. "I know this, and yet... I think I got my point across to him this time," she turned and looked at him again, smiling, "hopefully, things will work out soon."
Bakugou stared back, conflicted. On the one hand, she was clearly happy and feeling better – which, as much as it pained him to admit it, lifted a weight off his chest. But on the other, the reason for her happiness laid on that bastard, and Bakugou really didn't like that.
"Right," he said slowly, looking away and focusing on the road ahead instead. "Well, we should be getting back now, so hurry the fuck up, princess."
He walked briskly, but she easily kept up with him, and they both remained in relative silence for the rest of the journey.
And again, this was one of the reasons why Bakugou actually fucking tolerated her presence. Silences with her weren't bad, and he would even... in another universe, maybe he would even go as far as to say that silences with her were comfortable.
They were both absorbed in their own thoughts until they finally arrived at her house. (Y/N) stopped outside the gate and turned around to face him, a soft look in her eyes, causing Bakugou to look abruptly away again.
"Will you really be okay going back home by yourself?" she asked, and he scoffed harshly in response.
"Of fucking course I will be,, why the fuck wouldn't I be?"
"Well, I know you can take care of yourself, but it's natural to worry isn't it?" she replied easily, but her smile dimmed a bit. "You know... you probably don't want to hear this, and knowing how ridiculously stubborn you are this will probably fly right over your thick head, but... you're not indestructible you know?"
Bakugou tensed up, but before he could blow up at her she continued.
"Today... or well, technically yesterday now... you could have been seriously injured, or worse! That thing went straight for you, Katsu... if it wasn't for All Might, who knows what would have happened?"
She suddenly looked serious, and upset, and Bakugou realised that she must have had this on her mind for some time. Is heart squeezed in his chest as he recalled the relieved look her face, her relived tone when she realised he was alright.
