F I F T E E N

"Jack, answer the damn phone!" I shouted in to the phone, hanging up. "Dude, y/n, chill. They're probably just doing it somewhere. Okay." Caleb said sipping his coke flipping through the TV channels. I cross my arms and pout. "Yea but he said he would get a ride home at 12." I scrunched my brows. "Plans change." he said taking another sip. Finn walks over to me, all tired and yawning grabbed my shoulders softly. "Y/n, you've been worrying sick for three hours. Caleb is probably right." he says rubbing my shoulders. Still having my arms crossed, I lower them. I mean it does feel pretty good. I slip out of his grip and plop on the couch. "I know. I'm just worried,remember last year when he didn't come home." 

-Flashback to last year-

"Jack you are sure she can give you a ride?" i ask again. "Yes mom!" He shouts putting on his beanie. He grabs his phone and waits by my door. He raises his eyebrows at me and points to the door. I roll my eyes and grab the Honda keys. 

"you know it's just because I worry about you. I just don't want anything bad to happen." i say glancing at him as he has one air pod in. I reach over and grab it out. "Hey-" " i only act like a mom because I love you.... I don't want anything bad to happen to you." i say. I can feel him staring at me. I look over and he smiles. "I know. I love you too." he says grabbing his air pods back. "Hey rich kid, I want to listen too. I say. He laughs and hands me one. We listen to Rex Orange Country until we get there. "Okay Jack, text me if you need anything. Promise?" I say he grabs his air pod and kisses me on the cheek, "Promise, bye!" he shouts jumping out of the car. I see him run to Rowan. I felt very awkward with him dating a senior. Especially the popular one, the ones that didn't give a crap about us. It was a little weird for her to all the sudden take an interest in Jack. I drive home and just hope all goes well. 

Five hours later

"Well we can't tell his mom, she thinks he's at my house." says Finn. I think, I'm over this. "I'm going to look for him!" I shouted grabbing my keys. I rush out of the house and jump in my car. I start driving down the road. I'm about halfway to where I dropped off Jack when I see a kid, in torn up clothes, crying on the curb. I look as I pass by and see his shoes. Jack's shoes! I make a U-turn and park on the side of the road. I pull the car into park and literally jump out of the car. I rush over and embrace him in a hug. Jack yells and pushes me away with fear. "Jack it's me. It's just y/n. It's okay." I say going back to hold him. He looks at me and just starts crying even more. I stroke his head. "Oh my god, what happened?" I ask. He tries to speak but just starts to hyperventilate. "No. Shhhhh. It's ok you can tell me later." I say holding him. In that exact moment my heart felt as if it had shattered. To watch a person I love look like they've almost been killed scared the hell out of me. We finally got up and got in the car, when I saw another car coming down the road. 

I tap him. "C'mon, let's get in the car." i say helping him up and into the car. He leans against the window and instantly falls asleep as I start driving. I drive him back to Finn's as I see the others pull into Finn's driveway. They all go in except for Gaten and Noah who say me pull in with Jack. Without question, they help me pull him out of the car and carry him inside. They carry him to Finn's room and we let him sleep. "Oh my god! What happened?" Millie said looking like she was going to cry. "I have no clue. I saw him sitting on the curb crying at the Laney intersection." i say sitting down on the white chair in Finn's living room. "Isn't that halfway to the corner shop?" Jeremy asks. I nod my head. "What do you think happened?" Sadie says. We continue to talk among ourselves quietly until we all passed out scattered around the living room. 

Around noon the next day Jack said that Rowan Blanchard had led him into a trap where Jack was jumped by the jocks for him skating in their locker room. Jack left a few scratches on the lockers and benches and the jocks obviously did not like that.
