Prompt: the ex-couple sungjae and joy meet each other again after a very long time

today is such a busy day at the company. all that can be heard are the ticking of the computer keyboards, the ringing of the telephones, and the buzzing sounds of people chatting about their works. it is like a pandemonium. there are too many things happening at the same time.

as the clock ticked eleven o'clock in the morning, all the employees of the company are already at their edge. almost half a day had past and yet there are still so many things to do. due to their own deadlines nearing, and a big event that is about to happen, anxiety is building up inside each other. piling up like dirty laundry that is waiting to be washed.

being the workaholic that she is, park joy, the twenty-five-year-old girl holding a green colored mug, and is one of the many employees working in the company immediately goes back to her desk after getting herself a cup of green tea. settling down her mug first, she arranges herself to sit down and do her work while drinking. as soon as she arrives at her desk to finish her reports, an e-mail notification came up in her computer screen.

joy's heart almost skipped out of her chest upon seeing what the notification said. chills went up from her spine to her head, and her hands went as cold as ice. "...yook sungjae," she once again reads the name of the sender.

with shaking hands and an anxious mind, joy clicks on the e-mail notification to open it. mentally cursing herself for getting really affected by the occurrence and for trying to remember all that happened three years ago. but then she shrugged it off. 'this is not a good time to reminisce the memories that you have buried deep down your mind,' she says to herself.

it took no more than a minute for the e-mail to load. with just a blink of the eye, the whole content of the e-mail is now sitting on the laptop screen. sentences covered almost the whole interface like a plate overloaded with buffet food.

happy 2nd anniversary sooyoung-ie... my sooyoung-ie 💖

i know that we just met earlier at our favorite restaurant to celebrate our anniversary but here i am again, sitting in front of my desktop, writing you a love letter— an email rather... professing to you how deeply thankful i am that i got to know you. and how eternally grateful i will always be because i have you here by my side.

for the past two years that we have spent with each other, we went through a lot of hardships that tested our willingness to be in this relationship. we went through a lot of ups and downs and faced criticisms and judgments from people who are either jealous of us or cannot understand us. but despite it all, we are still here, proving those who wished for the worst in our relationship wrong.

i am so happy that we overcame all of those and decided to stick together. i cannot even put it into words. but knowing you, i know that you understand what i mean hahaha...

sooyoung's mind betrayed her when after reading almost half of the email, all her moments with sungjae came rushing in her retrospect. and as much as sooyoung tried hard on suppressing her tears from crawling, like her mind it betrayed her too.

"hey, why are you crying?" her co-worker and friend yeri asked her upon seeing sooyoung cry.

when sooyoung did not respond to her question, yeri looked at what is sitting on her friend's desktop screen.  seeing an email laid out in the open, yeri passed by it quickly. after reading, all she could do was flinch on what she saw. it was not just an ordinary email but an email from her friend's ex-boyfriend, that idiot yook sungjae.
