"Lady (y/n), you will be late for the ball. It is about to start," A maid says from behind the door. I can't come out in this dress! I-i just couldn't. My mind flashes back to when I got it
"(Y/n) you will be wearing this dress. A small gift from the prince. He requests you wear it," my dad has said with a hidden bitter tone.
Yeah sure the dress was beautiful, Loki practically created fashion but like still. I look in the mirror to see the gold design sparkling in the light.
Most of all this dress is going to catch attention. Something I despise.....
"Lady (y/n) please I will be in great trouble if you are not there by the time given," the maid silently begs. I puff my cheeks and blow out the air as I kill myself in my mind. I take deep breath and open the door.
"How do I look?" I ask her.
"You look beautiful," she smiles. I thank her and walk to the ballroom. There was a flurry of butterflies erupting in my stomach. I could feel my palms sweat as I tried to stop the cold sweat that was beginning to form.
I two guards nod and open the door. I plaster a smile as I feel the room quiet down when I walk in.
"My daughter everyone!" I hear my dad roars proudly. I smile and nod to everyone like those Disney princesses do. I walk to my dad as properly and smoothly as I could. I probably looked like a dying horse though.
"Please do continue," Raynor says out loud.
"Happy birthday dear," Aesir says, patting my shoulder. I nod with a forced smile. He nods back and disappears into the crowd of people, leaving me alone.
"You should wear makeup more often. Not that you don't look good without it," Aros tells me, walking up to me.
"You look nice," I complement. He looked like he was picked straight from the Victorian age.
"Thank you. Might I say your lover picked out the perfect dress," he says with a wink.
"I guess," I say with a small smile as I try not to blush.
"Oh is someone shy," he jokes and hits my shoulder with his. I roll my eyes but straighten as a guest comes to me. She wishes me a happy birthday, chats for a bit, then leaves.
"Lover boy has just entered," Aros whispers as Loki walks through the doors. The guests go quiet as they observe the prince. His outfit perfectly matched mine. It was similar to his usual outfit just more gold and sophisticated.
He stands there looking around. I look to see my dad giving him a look. He looked mad that he came. The silence was unbearable.
I decide to make the first move and walk to him. His eyes meet mine and soften. I smile a real smile and stand in front of him.
"Thank you for coming, I hope it wasn't a hassle," I tell him.
"No hassle, no hassle at all. I am honored you invited me," he says, confidence radiating from him.
"Dinner has been set, let's eat then begin the actual ball," Aesir pronounces. People begin to file through the doors and take their places. There were little cards set on the table to signify ones seating.
My seat was at the corner and Aros sat in front of me. He sends a wink and a fake a barf.
"Is your dad sitting here?" I ask, trying not to look around a lot. He shrugs and I watch Raynor walk through the doors and past me, sitting in the other end.
Then who sat......oh my gods. I sharply turn my head to glare at Raynor but he simply smiles at me and sits down. My dad was doing the same thing.
