But my parents
fought for this country
and killed theirs in

I have name brand clothes
Made by slave workers (somewhere far across the sea)
They buy my old ones
at the Salvation Army
I know, I know,
I've been blessed
And I am grateful for it
(more or less)
But really their life sucks
obviously because of their own
Mistakes
Look. I'm older, they're younger
Or I'm smarter, they're dumber

there is a big gulf
between us
My life isn't perfect,
but their's is different
Colored, Orphan, Abused,
Quiet,
Leftover, Strange
Outsider, Weirdo,
Mis-shaped, Unloved
The One bearing the
death mark
from society
The one pushed off the
Lifeboat
I know, it's horrible to think about it
But it's ok,
As long as you never
Say it
The lifeboat is sinking anyway
The radio still works fine
and a rescue ship is only
One
call
away
