Kaia's POV

I entered the front door to see my mother waiting for me on the couch. "Didn't I tell you to leave my house before I left here 3 days ago!" She screamed at me.

I assumed she was drunk, her clothes reeked with the smell of alcohol.

"Where do you supposed I should live. Huh? You never here anyway! Why do give a damn if I'm here anyway. No wonder dad left you look at yourself."

She always did this. Unprovoked attacks on me. The day was fine she wasn't even home when I got back from Maia's.

I felt a hand smack my cheek as soon a I turned. My helpless body was one the floor crying. Why I asked myself why did it have to be this way. Why couldn't she love me like a mother was supposed to.

Flashback 7 years ago.

"Fine just leave us! What about your daughter!? Don't you love us. Don't you love her!" My threw my their wedding photo against the wall.

Wednesdays, I hate Wednesdays they suck.

"Well you tell her explain why your going to leave us. Break her little heart."

I heard footsteps towards my room. My father found me and lowered himself to my level.

"I can't stay here anymore. I just can't. But I'm always gonna love you Kaia." His eyes sweltered with tears.

Only 10 years old, I was blinded by the deep rooted feelings of hatred my parents had towards one another. Hearing confirmation that my father indeed was leaving us sent fear through my body.

"What about me? You're gonna leave me alone? I thought you loved me?" I questioned his decision hoping to change it.

He kissed my forehead settled me in my bed and closed my door.

End of flashback

That was the last time I had seen or heard from my father. I picked myself of the ground. My head felt like carrying bricks. I wondered how long I was laying there.

I walked myself up towards my room and closed the door behind me. I called a stranger someone who I knew wouldn't judge.

"Hello?" His husky voice alerted me that he had just woken up.

"Hey Ryan I'm sorry to bother you, but I'm kind of in a bind. Is it possible you could meet me at my house."

"Yeah... yeah sure."

I looked outside to see Ryan closing his car door. I opened the door before he could ring the bell.

"I need to talk to you. I'm just glad you came." I smiled faintly.

Ryan's POV

Kaia Sanders. There was heaven in her. But today something was very off. Kaia was gone. The sparkle in her gorgeous brown eyes were gone. The long black curls I dreamed about running my fingers through were tangled and unkept.

"I'm glad you came Ryan. I really need your advice and someone to talk to. Can we keep this between us." Her sweet soft voice spoke.
