today he was at my house again

i said 'hello'

and he said

'sup, lilly'

at least i know

that he knows my name

i said,

'how's school'

he said,

'it blows'

i laughed and nodded

agreeing that school

most definitely blows

he said,

'you should hang out with us more often'

i said,

'i can't

sammy doesn't like me'

he shook his head

and replied,

'sammy just doesn't want

to see you get hurt

that's all'

i nodded and frowned

knowing in my head

that i didn't need

my big brother's

protection

to get through
