"That's Logan's voice!" Amanda and Lee shouted excitedly. The distorted voice said something in a gibberish-like language. "But who's that?" Jason's ears pricked. The ground rumbled, the lamp flickering on and off. CRACK. The roof busted open, the monster staring down at the kids as it rose up. "Stay back!" Lee lifted her knife in defense. Jason got his bat, ready to swing. Its crescent shaped thing, stained with blood on the tips, slowly went downwards. It looked as if electricity charged it. "DON'T COME ANY CLOSER!" Amanda threw a stick at it. The monster shook its head, continuing to taunt the kids. "GET AWAY FROM THEM!" Gunshots. Junny looked alarmed as a bullet shot through the crescent shaped object. The object fell to the ground, lighting into flames. "GET BACK! GO, KIDS, GO! ALL OF YOU INSIDE THE TRUCK!" Peter screamed, lifting his gun again. The Thing looked alarm, although it had no face, or anything to show emotions. Peter backed towards the truck, opening the driver's door and getting in, driving as fast as he could away from there. Chris opened his door and looked outside. Must've been my imagination. "Ow." a dog screamed from inside. "DIXIE!" Chris huffed, going back inside.

"Logan was in there, I know it!" Amanda shouted, wincing in pain as Yvonne's elbow hit her side. "We can't go back!" Landon let out a strange noise, must be a deer thing. "We have to." Jason growled, "If you don't want to be here, get your parents to pick you up!" "Hey, hey, hey, no fighting!" Peter told them. Jason sighed, twisting his pencil in his pocket. Junny glanced at Jason. Jason shot a glare at Junny. Jason's hair now covered his eyes a bit, it seemed. Junny liked it better when he could see Jason's eyes, he didn't know why. Junny turned to the window. It was noon. The dead leaves covered the ground. Amanda tapped Lee. "Will Logan miss Halloween this year?" Amanda lowered her ears. "I don't know." Lee said. Amanda looked away. She and Logan always went trick or treating with each other, and they always wore matching costumes. Last year they were salt and pepper. Amanda was the salt, obviously. The memories made Lee sad. She's always push them around in a red wagon and collected their candy in old pillowcases. Lee's dad always told her that they'd grow out of it, but Lee hoped they wouldn't. She loved being there with them, even if she didn't dress up according to the topic they were.

Halloween was two weeks away, and everybody has assumed Logan ran away to kill himself or was kidnapped. Somehow nobody else noticed the one hundred feet tall monster. If they did, everyone thought they were crazy. Especially this close to the scariest day of the year. Jason, however, didn't see a point in Halloween anymore. Bryson and Jason would always decorate the house like a haunted place and would always dress up as skeletons to jump out to scare kids. Bryson had a great plan this year, they'd be fake scarecrows and then suddenly move. Since his death, Jason didn't feel the need to care about the holidays they spent together. That's one of the reasons he hates most people. But there's a deeper story to the entire reason.

The all walked around investigating Jason's house. "Guys, this isn't some crime scene." Jason huffed. Landon set down a pen. "Okay-" BANG. Jason ran upstairs to find Junny looking around and Ansley on the floor. "What the-" "What's this?" Junny picked up a photo. It was the photo Ansley gave Jason, the one with Bryson, the train, and the Thing. Jason narrowed his eyes, although his hair began to cover them.
