Calypso came running into the room and I smiled.
"I was starting to get worried about you Caly."

I picked him up and snuggled with him just like how Ellis was snuggling with Nicholas.

I placed Calypso down on the ground and he went over to Ellis, pawing at his leg and meowing.
"What is it Calypso?"

Ellis placed Nicholas down on his blanket and Calypso ran over to him, licking his face and making Nicholas laugh again.

*Ellis P.O.V.*

I looked over at Nick, but he wasn't smiling. He was crying.
I handed Nicholas over to F/N, then walked over to him.

"Nick...you alright?"
He wiped his face, sighing shakily.
"Can I help?"

He shook his head.
"There's no way to help me with them."

I cocked an eyebrow, resting my hand on top of his.
"Who's them?"
He didn't respond, so I curled my fingers under his hand.
"Friend, please remove your hands from over your eyes for me."

He lifted his head up, staring at me.
"The voices."

Shit.

He rolled up his sleeve to reveal scratches covering his wrists that were slowly scarring
"Nick, wh-when did this happen?"

"The day after the attack in the field. I couldn't take it Ellis...I still can't."

I swallowed the lump in my throat, moving closer to him.
"We've been through hell and back, and we're still standing. We have not, come this far, to die now."

He looked over at me, taking my hand and leading me into the other room.
As the girls looked at me, I just waved them off, gesturing that it was alright.

He closed the door behind me, then stayed facing the door.
"There's a reason I'm stuck, and not wanting to be here anymore."

"What is it? I love ya Nick, and you can tell me anythin'."

He turned around.
"Are you sure you wanna hear? Or...do you want me to show you?"

He gonna show me more cuts.

"If showing me don't cause you no trouble. Only if you're okay with it."

He walked up to me, stopping when our faces were only a couple inches apart.
"Ellis, there's...something about me, that makes me hate myself."

I placed my hand on his cheek, resting my forehead on his.
"What is it? I can help."

He shook his head.
"No you can't. You can't help me."

I tilted my head in confusion.
"What do you mean?"

He sighed, then...
It happened.

I jumped out of my skin as the gap between our faces vanished; his lips pressed against mine.

What the fuck do I do? Do I pull away? But...he's telling me he's gay, or just gay for me so, do I have to kiss back? Just for him? But what about Y/N? What about...

As an accident, I leaned foreword as I pulled away.
"N-Nick...why did you do that? I have a kid with someone who's standin' outside."

"Y-You said you wanted me to show
you...I-I'm sorry Ellis."
He quickly backed up towards the door.
"I'm so sorry."

He opened it and ran out, so I quickly followed.
"Nick!"
I looked over at Y/N and F/N, shaking my head.
"Stay here!"

They nodded, comforting Nicholas because of all the commotion.
I ran outside, but didn't see him.
"Nick!" I screamed as I continued running.

I turned the corner and froze.
He just stood there, knife dragging across his wrists. Deeply.

"Nick!" I cried, running over to him.
There was blood all over him, and his skin had turned pale.

I grabbed his blade and threw it away, wrapping my hands around the slashes on his wrists.

I looked into his silver eyes as he shakily lifted his head.
"J-Just leave me..."

I pulled him closer to me.
"No, I'm not leaving you! Not like this, and not ever!"
He scoffed with a smile.
"Nick, you've saved me numerous times, and you're the reason I'm here. Please don't give up."

"I-I, already h-have."

My head shot over as Calypso turned the corner, meowing loudly once he saw Nick.
F/N and Y/N quickly followed, Nicholas in
Y/N's arms.

They froze, Y/N's knees shaking.
"N-Nick, please tell me this is a joke."

She handed Nicholas over to F/N, who was crying with everyone else.
She knelt down next to him, placing a hand on Nick's shoulder.

"I-I'm sorry..." Nick wheezed, barely clinging onto his life.

Y/N shook her head.
"N-No, please. You were so happy before."

"It was faking it. I-I'm just the guy in the background that no one gives a shit about."

I shook my head.
"Nick, you're the reason I'm here. You're so important to me, that...look." I gestured over to Nicholas.
"I named my son after you. Please just don't give up."

He panted, his eyes closing.
"NICK! NICK NO!"

Friend, please don't take your life away from-

HEY GUYS! Sorry for the sad chapter, I just got an idea from a comment on one of my previous chapters.
Also, I'm so sorry for the late upload, I just had exam shit to stress over, and just stress in general, but I'm back.
I don't have any work to do, so I'm pretty much in the clear.
I'll try and write another chapter this week, but no promises.
