I had gotten home from school. Mama McCall was standing over a duffel bag full of money. I look down noticing it was the one Scott found in Garrett's locker.

"Whats this" Mama McCall integrates me

I look down trying to to say anything but I feel I owe it to her for letting me live here so I break an begin speaking really fast "It's dead pool payment from the Hale vault. Scott found it in Garrett's locker the day Violet was arrested"

"Okay well let's see was Scott has to say about it" She says an I go sit on the couch in awkward silence

2 hours had pasted an Scott was finally home Mama McCall was standing over the duffel bag ready to greet Scott the same way she greeted me. Scott walks through the door an I stand up from the couch.

"Hey. Sorry I'm back so late I was closing up the animal clinic for a little more hours to earn I little extra" he pauses as he finally notices Mama McCall standing over the duffel bag full "money" he sighs

"How much more did you need" Mama McCall asks her son

"This is payment from the dead pool, I found it in Garrett's locker" Scott says gesturing towards the duffel bag

Mama McCall starts nodding an says "This belongs to Derek" she sighs an looks back at the bag an asks "So you just keeping in safe for Derek in a gym bag underneath your bed"

Scott gives her a look so that she knows he doesn't know he has it

Mama McCall sighs again an asks "How long have you had it"

Scott looks down an shakes his head in shame "Too long"

"You know you have to give it back" She tells him then looks back at me "both of you"

I walk to Scott's side

"Then I wanna know why haven't you" she says looking at both me an Scott. I feel like two five year old brother an sister who just got into I fight over a toy an our mom got annoyed an decided to end it with an interrogation on who started it, who had the toy first, etc.

There was a silence an me being me I had to break it "Because of you" I say trying to answer her question best as possible

"Me" she says sounding shocked "You mean because we've been struggling a little"

"Mom we've been struggling a lot" Scott admits

She awes an sighs at the same time then says "Scott, Crys, you can save people's lives but you can't save them from life" she tells us "Life is full of struggles"

"Honey" Mama McCall begins to speak

Scott backs me up "Do you know what just one of these can do" he picks up a stack of money "This gets us a new roof"

"This pays for Eichen house" Scott an I begin to name all the problems the money can solve

Liam is hanging out with Mason tonight so I didn't get to see much of him until he texted me
