Ming's POV

I offered endless apologies to my client Kris, who, initially and understandably, was shaken by the untoward incident with Kit.

Thankfully, after just a few moments, he was able to recover and was able to take it all in stride and was back to his usual composed and professional self.

Because I could see that, although he wasn't asking any questions, I could see his mind working, trying to make sense of what just happened, I had to give him an explanation. I owed it to him.

"He is a previous client who got obsessed with me and was starting to try to turn our client/escort relationship into more than a professional kind," I said to him.

"You must have more than your fair share of those kinds of clients," Kris chuckled.

"No," I corrected him, "he's been the only one so far."

Kris raised his eyebrows to indicate that he didn't believe me. I was actually speaking the truth. He was giving my looks and figure more credit than they deserved.

I accompanied him back to his condo unit and asked him if he wanted me to stay with him for the rest of the evening.

I could see the indecision on his face. Was he thinking that spending the evening with me could count as an act of infidelity towards his partner?

Apparently he thought so. He told me that he would be fine and not to worry, he would be paying me the full amount for my escort services.

We wished each other a good night and I had the limousine driver drop me off at my apartment.

I tossed and turned in bed before finally drifting off to sleep. I kept replaying in my mind the evening's ignominious incident.

Whatever possessed Kit to go out of control. No matter how hard I tried, I just could not wrap my head around it. I conceded to myself that what I had done to Kit was unforgivable and unprofessional, but as a well known, well respected business figure, he could have acted in a more restrained manner.

I had no intentions of sending him my apologies though. He had shamed me in public. Let's just say that we were now even. We could call it quits.

With that thought, my mind started to relax and soon I was in deep slumber.

I awakened to the incessant ringing of my phone. I looked at the screen. It was Mr. Kirakorn calling. Shit, I was in for a reprimand from the big kahuna himself.

When I took the call, he didn't waste time with preliminaries.

"You are my most valuable employee," he began his tirade, "you are the top earner of my agency. I hate to let go of you."

"I'm tending my resignation as of right now," I interrupted him.

"You're not listening," he protested, "I don't want to let go of you. I just want to know your side of the story."

Shit, he must have read the tabloids already.

"I really need to know why my ultra VIP client acted like a jilted lover last night. Have you even read the papers yet? And why were you with someone else? Why did you not escort Mr. Intochar as we agreed upon? What is going on, Ming? Tell me!" He had to pause to catch his breath.

"I would rather not explain," I said tiredly. I was mentally exhausted. "If you want to fire me you can go ahead. Right now, I am past caring."

There was a brief silence on Mr. Kirakorn's end.

"Since there seems to be a serious reason why you don't want to provide your escort services to Mr. Intochar, I will no longer assign you to him. But I am keeping you in my employ."

Shit, Mr. Kirakorn really didn't want to let go of me. Well, it looks like I would have to juggle my assignments with the Kirakorn and the Thitipoom agencies from now on. At least Mr. Kirakorn had assured me that he would not be assigning me to Kit anymore.

After a quick breakfast, I decided to drive over to the nearest supermarket to buy the ingredients I needed to bake a banana walnut cake for my father.

I possessed good culinary skills. I had inherited them from my mom. These days however my mom seemed to be spending more and more time with her friends who were into horticulture. Recently she has especially been into cultivating rare species of orchids.

I felt sorry for my dad who had expressed that he missed the banana walnut cakes that my mom used to bake for him.

I decided to pay him a visit with the banana walnut cake as a no special occasion present, a just because present.

As soon as the cake was ready, I carefully placed it in a box and headed towards my father's office where I usually found him whenever I paid him a visit.

Before I even opened the door, I took the cake out of the box and balanced the plate carefully in one hand while I used the other hand to open the door.

To surprise my dad, I didn't bother to knock but just turned the knob, pushed open the door and burst in with a big smile on my face.

I did the first thing that came to my mind when I saw the infamous Kit Intochar sitting comfortably on a chair across my father.

I pressed the banana walnut cake hard into his face.
