Moving Day

Ring Ring. I groaned and stepped out of my bed.

"Bismillah ir Rahman ir Rahim!" I said in a tired voice hoping for some luck throughout the day.

"Sakina beta, get your suitcases ready!" my mom yelled while bringing her suitcases down the stairs and into the car. Today is moving day and I should be happy, but really I am so tired about this. I think I have already had enough times moving for a lifetime! I have been to three elementary schools and now I am about to start middle school, 7th grade. I am just so nervous because I was always the new kid and here I am again, the new kid.

"Did you get everything Sakina?" my older sister Laila asked in an annoying way. She was so pretty and I always wanted to be like her. Laila wore jeans and an open abaya with her heels. Her hijab was nicely wrapped aroung her head and her eyes, hazel, shimmering in the sun. I stepped towards my mom's car, a Mercedes Benz SUV, and go in. I can't wait for an 18 hour road trip.

"Yay! I can't wait for the road trip!" I said in a fake exciting voice. Road trip here I come. Bye bye Virginia, Hello Georgia!  Even though I am moving to a state where I haven't been before I am only 2% happy/excited.

Vroom.  The car started and we backed out from the driveway and I just knew I would miss this house. We pulled out of the neighborhood and I already missed our house, my school, and my friends.

Allah rabi! Please help me and help me make sure I go to a good school where I can be respected no matter what.

18 hours later.

"Alright everyone. We are here, welcome to your new house," my mom said while getting out of the car. The house was pretty nice, I think in my opinion that the house was to big for only four people.

My mom said that it was good to go big for something new. Maybe it was or maybe it wasn't and that was a whole start to my new life in Georgia.

I walked inside and I was shocked of how beautiful the house really was!

"Sakina! Remember, you are starting school tomorrow!!" My mom said. That's when I started to have butterflies in my stomach.
