It's been a long time since it happened, and I remember it like it was yesterday.
I never believed in true love, before I found you. The way you made the world seem a little bit brighter, and how you would give me a reason to get up in the morning.
I said I didn't love you for such a long time, but what I didn't know, was that I had never experienced true love at all.
But I was too late to discover it.
Your heart didn't beat for me anymore, and that smile of yours, didn't shine as bright for me.
You couldn't let me keep your heart, while you still had mine, and I do understand it.
I was too slow.
It's funny how a person can make you feel such a way.
I remember the day you told me about butterflies, and what made them unique.
To me you were a butterfly.
Unique, and not like anyone else. Your heart had so much love, and you had a heart that beat for me.
You loved me for who I was, even when no one else did.
And I wish I could've said this sooner, and made that smile stay forever glued to your face. I wish I could make you smile one last time with you knowing that—
