Regrets

I like hearing stories of elder people. They have lived a thousand lives throughout only one lifetime. It's amazing how you can hear stories of forgotten romances and regrets lost in time. How you can picture a perfect couple right before the '70s who have loved each other deeply but all of a sudden they've lost touch; or hear stories about young men forced themselves to break up with the girls of their dreams just because their friends thought that what they needed was "more experience" with other girls; or listen to old women who were made to marry other men, for the love of their life was too poor that their parents wouldn't approve of them. I like the idea though that some of them travelled the world, worked hard, insisted on wanting their one and only and at last they won. "I'd rather have lived an unsteady life" once an old man said, "than letting my one true love slip away from me, leading my life to despair", and I was left astounded.
