I hummed the Mission Impossible theme song as I sauntered down the stairs to open the front door. "Hey Jared!" "Hey acorn. You're in a good mood today!" I smiled. "Yeah. Don't know why, I just feel... impowered today!" "Oh my god..." He looked uncomfortable as he sat down on my couch. "Hey, you okay?" I sat down next to him, putting a hand on his shoulder. He inhaled. "jared?" He stood up, a few tears falling down his face. "No, I'm not. WHY AM I EVEN HERE, EVAN? MY PARENTS HATE ME, AND THEY ENJOY HURTING ME. I JUST.. WHAT IS MY PURPOSE??! and...I....LOVE YOU SO MUCH BUT I KNOW YOU DON'T FEEL THE SAME WAY!" He sobbed harder, running out my door. I took a minute to process what he had just said. Well, shit. My best freind just confessed to me.
I ran after him, but he was faster than me, so after a while I lost him. I felt a few tears fall, and I saw a tall oak a few feet away. Jared was sitting underneath it, curled up in a ball. I ran over to him and wrapped my arms around him. He sobbed into me. "Shhhh.... it's okay, I'm heere." He looked up at me. "I-" I cut him off and kissed him. He was surprised, but he melted into it. I pulled away and smiled at him. "I love you, Jared." He buried his head in my chest. "Well I love you more."
