whilst the moon peeks, we basked in her light
in her radiance and in her fun
she dispelled our darkness
and for a moment we didn't mind the sun..
but the dawn comes
and the sun peeks slowly
the glaring truth pierced through the moon's beams
waking us up from our long dreams
'twas a dream, alright
of our own longings and frustrations
buried within and only summoned by the moon's smile..
but 'twas only a dream, alright?
and dreams should not blind us from reality
and the sun surely shed the light for us
whether we like it or not,
it eventually dispelled the darkness
it eventually enlightened the lost
and now with the clarity of day
we were left in the open
bare, vulnerable
under the scrutiny of all
alas, the light that comforts us in the night
left us along with her stars..
