Day two of the flu was worse than day one. At least yesterday you were able to get some rest and take some medicine to take your fever down, and though you were throwing up yesterday even after taking medicine, it at least stayed down long enough to take effect. But today was different. You couldn't keep anything down and Demi was extremely worried about you. She could tell you were becoming severely dehydrated, hell after all you couldn't even keep water down. It seemed like your body rejected anything and everything. She wasn't sure what to do. She just had to watch you become so ill that you'd cry, hoping and praying you could sleep but you couldn't stop vomiting long enough to do so.

It just continued to worsen throughout the day. It was now evening time and you were laying on your stomach as Demi was kneeling down on the floor in front of you, your head hanging off the bed and over the bucket on Demi's lap as you continued to get sick. Your hair was in a messy braid that Demi had done herself, your clothes messy and covered in sweat. It seemed like after every time you were sick you'd dry heave for a bit, your body barely having any time to relax. You stopped for a moment, panting and trying to catch your breath. Demi placed the bucket on the floor and rubbed your sweat soaked back. You looked so miserable and she just didn't know what to do anymore. "I'll be back in a minute princess." She kissed your burning forehead before standing up and grabbing her phone, clicking on her moms contact immediately. She answered on the third ring and Demi instantly began rambling and pacing the hallway as she spoke. "Mom it's y/n. She's so sick, I mean she can't keep anything down, not even water. I'm really scared and I don't know what to do. Her fever is getting higher and she can't stop vomiting or dry heaving and she just looks so miserable mom. What should I do? I can't stand seeing her like this and not being able to make her feel better." Demi was in tears at this point and she sighed when she heard you throwing up again. "Sounds like a really bad case of the flu. I'd take her to the hospital just to be sure. She sounds like she's gotta be dehydrated and you should always take care of that as soon as you possibly can." Demi nodded her head at her mother's words, her hands tangling in her hair as she continued to add a couple things about your condition, listening closely to her moms advice and reassuring words. She hung up the phone a couple minutes later and slid it in her back pocket before walking back into your bedroom. Her heart broke when she saw you. Your eyes were closed, your breathing was off, you were drenched in sweat, and you looked so pale. She sighed and walked into the closet, grabbing her shoes and sliding them on quickly. She was in such a hurry to get you to the emergency room that she didn't even bother grabbing your shoes or a little jacket to keep you warm, she just walked over to you and kneeled in front of you, stroking your hair as she kept her focus on you. "Alright honey, it's time to go to the hospital. C'mon, I'll get you to the car my love." She slid her hands under your thighs and picked you up, letting you rest your head on her shoulder before grabbing one of the small fuzzy blankets and placing it over you, carrying you out to the car carefully like you would a sick child.

Once you were in the car she jumped right in, placing the bucket in between your legs as you whined, your stomach beginning to bubble and the sick feeling creeping up again. She raced off to the hospital feeling absolutely terrified about what could be wrong with you. You had absolutely no energy left and she once again had to carry you, this time carrying you into the emergency room and yelling for help as if you were dying, which she was afraid you were so sick you could be. A couple nurses and a doctor opened the doors wide for her to carry you back, a little sick bin for you to get sick in was handed to you as you began to throw up again. She reached one of the hospital beds, the curtains being drawn open so she could lay you down on the bed ever so gently. "She looks extremely dehydrated. Get her started on an iv and fluids." Demi held your hand as they stuck the needle in, something that would normally make your skin crawl, but you were so out of it at that point you didn't even notice.

It was a couple hours later when you opened your eyes again, Demi sitting beside you in the same position she'd been in since you first arrived. She was still holding your hand and you felt her lips on the skin making you smile for the first time in days. Demi looked up at you, she looked absolutely exhausted, but she couldn't have cared less about that. "Hey beautiful. Have a nice rest?" "Yeah. What happened?" "You passed out. You were so dehydrated, my love. But you're alright now. You look less pale and the doctor said your fever went down a lot. It was at 104.1 when we arrived and last time he checked about twenty minutes ago it was at 102.4, so you're getting there slowly. Now why don't you get some more sleep princess? You've gotta be exhausted." She leaned over and kissed your forehead. You still felt low on energy, having more than before for sure, but you were still understandably drained. You nodded your head and yawned, your eyes drooping shut as Demi watched you closely, no longer feeling as anxious. She remembered that she needed to call her mom back but you were finally not throwing up every three minutes and you were sleeping, she hadn't slept in a while since she had taken care of you all that time you were so sick, so instead of calling her mom she squirmed around in the chair and got comfortable, her hand still in yours before she looked at your sleeping figure once more before falling asleep herself, finally feeling more relaxed and letting her worries drift away as she slept comfortably for the first time since you'd first gotten ill.
