Okay, if you're going to write in English, please make your subject and verb agree. And please write all in one tense (past, present, future). Please do not mix all those in the same paragraph. I feel like I'm time traveling when I read something like this:
Derek was going faster because it is time to be at the party. It will be a blast.
No no no no no. WRONG. Here's how you could write that better:
Derek was going faster, because it was already time for the party to begin. It was going to be a blast, and he was excited to get there.
I'm not the best writer in the world, but I try to follow my own advice. That way, even if what I write is crap, I can at least read it without getting a headache from the time traveling.
