The next day.

"That's all." Jiang Cheng said and stood up. He walked, leaving the cultivators that're left inside the room follow him with their gaze.

Silence fell upon them.

"I'm going, too." Lan Xichen said and gracefully stood up. He nodded at them, then silently left.

"Hmm..." Nie Huaisang said, fanning himself. "Are those two...?" he said, then covered his face with his fan.

Nobody answered him, since they also don't know what happened between the leaders of two prominent clans - YunmengJiang and GusuLan Sect.

They only know... the two leaders aren't close anymore.

Lotus Pier

"Hm~" Wei Wuxian hummed as he poured his cup with Emperor's Smile.

Jiang Cheng lifted his face from the book he's reading. "You seem to be in a good mood." He told him.

"I am always in a good mood." Wei Wuxian said. "Though today, I'm especially in a good mood." He said and smiled. "Unlike someone." He added and sipped his cup.

A vein popped in Jiang Cheng's forehead.

"What?" Wei Wuxian said when Jiang Cheng didn't retort. "You're especially in a bad mood today." He said and sat beside Jiang Cheng. "What happened?" he asked.

Jiang Cheng looked at him. In the past, when Wei Wuxian sat beside him, in spite of him getting irritated by the guy's smirk, his heart would beat fast he thought the other would hear it. And so he'd immediately crawl away.

But, right now...

"Nothing." Jiang Cheng calmly answered and leaned on the wall, reading his book.

"I just don't know if you've noticed, but - " Wei Wuxian said and pointed Jiang Cheng's book. " - you're reading it upside down. And you're halfway of the book. What a talent!" he said and laughed when dark lines covered Jiang Cheng's face. "Also - " he added and started pointing out how Jiang Cheng wore different pair of his boots; something is sticking out in his hair, etc.

"Fine! Fine!" Jiang Cheng said, gave up. "I'm telling you!" he told him.

Wei Wuxian looked at him. "About ZeWu-Jun?" he asked.

Jiang Cheng's eyes went wide. "How did you - ?" he asked.

"Hm~" Wei Wuxian said and smiled. He poured Jiang Cheng a cup. "Since it's..."

"'it's?"

"... obvious." Wei Wuxian said.

Instead of getting angry, Jiang Cheng fell silent.

"So? What happened?" Wei Wuxian asked when Jiang Cheng didn't answer.

Needless to say, he knew this is unusual for Jiang Cheng. Aside from getting angry always, Jiang Cheng is cold.

But now...

"... we just had a disagreement." Jiang Cheng just said. Wei Wuxian stared at him, though didn't ask.

If Wei Wuxian already has an idea or what about what the two's (Jiang Cheng and Lan Xichen) disagreement...

"I'm at fault." Jiang Cheng said after a moment of silence. "That's why I'm thinking on how to apologize to him." he explained.

"... for 3 months?" Wei Wuxian asked.

Dark lines covered Jiang Cheng's face. "You know Lan Xichen is the other jade of the Lans aside from your lover." He told him. "How do you think I should apologize to him?" he asked, frowning.

"... I never apologize to Lan Zhan since we never fight." Wei Wuxian answered in a matter-of-fact tone. They never once fought after they got married.

"... scram." Jiang Cheng told Wei Wuxian. He closed his book and left.

"... you're the one who 'scrammed'." Wei Wuxian said and laughed as he continued drinking Emperor's Smile.

Cloud Recesses.

A shrill and unsteady tune echoed in the mountains. Lan Xichen sighed as he put down Liebing.

"Brother." Lan Wangji called, stopped playing his zither.

"... I know. Uncle will get mad if he heard me play." Lan Xichen quietly said. Fortunately, Lan Qiren isn't around. "You like to ask what happened to me?" he asked, saw his little brother's face when he turned.

Seems like brother's ability to read my mind is still functional today. Lan Wangji thought. He just nodded. "Jiang Wanyin?" he asked. Lan Xichen's smile froze. I'm right. Lan Wangji thought. "Why?" he asked. "... Jin Guangyao?" he asked again. Lan Xichen didn't answer. Wei Ying's right. Lan Wangji thought.

Wangji... seems like you've developed an ability to read my mind, too. Lan Xichen thought. Are we really not twins? "Yes." He answered as he sat.

"How?" Lan Wangji asked. His lover only mentioned to him that Jiang Cheng asked Wei Wuxian about Jin Guangyao.

"It's my fault." Lan Xichen answered. Lan Wangji looked at him. "I was careless." He added.

Lan Wangji's eyes went wide, surprised. Lan Xichen had never been the careless person. "Brother." He called.

Lan Xichen raised his hand. "My matter with him (Jin Guangyao) has already been settled." He said. Lan Wangji didn't answer. "Wangji." He called. "... what do you think of having a sister-in-law?" he silently asked.

Lan Wangji's fingers on the zither slid down the string.

Yunmeng.

"Lan Zhan! I know you'll come!" Wei Wuxian said and jumped on Lan Wangji's wide open arms only for Wei Wuxian.

"Mn." Lan Wangji nodded as he stared at his lover's brightly smiling face.

"I know you'll come for Wei Wuxian." Jiang Cheng said and looked at Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian. "So why should you bring ZeWu-Jun here?" he asked and looked at Lan Xichen who's smiling at the two.

"ZeWu-Jun should come out of the Gusu one in a while..." Wei Wuxian told Jiang Cheng.

"... he could've gone to Lanling..." Jiang Cheng muttered, his face dark. Why Yunmeng?

"Brother decided to tag along with me." Lan Wangji said. Dark lines covered Jiang Cheng's face. "I hope Sect Leader Jiang could accompany my brother." He added, then nodded as he and Wei Wuxian left.

More dark lines covered Jiang Cheng's face.

"Sect Leader Jiang." Lan Xichen called.

Jiang Cheng didn't answer and just walked away. He was about to call one of his disciples when Lan Xichen spoke again.

"I am here to apologize." Lan Xichen said, his voice soft.

Jiang Cheng stopped, his back on Lan Xichen. I'm the one at fault! I should be the one to apologize! He thought, his face red in embarrassment. As expected of a jaded person! he thought.

Lan Xichen continued. "I was careless that time." He said. "I shouldn't have opened what's not needed to be opened - " he said, referring to wounds.

But to other people, this sounded different. Jiang Cheng's face was covered in dark lines. "That's - "

Lan Xichen cut him off. "My relationship with Jin Guangyao ended the moment I struck him." he said, his face serious. He looked at Jiang Cheng.

"O - oh." Jiang Cheng just ssaid. This is my chance to apologize, too. He thought. "I apologize, too." He said. "I shouldn't have said what shouldn't be said." he told him.

Lan Xichen nodded, then smiled.

Jiang Cheng's face flushed. Everything's... now back to normal...
