Chapter: 83
Connor's POV:
As we were getting closer to the harbor of New York, my eyes went down to see my lover sleeping against the railing. Her head on a pillow along with a blanket as well. There was no way in hell she was going in the crew member's quarters to sleep and some guy got handsy with her. They would be toss overboard and it would make a nice example of not touching her again, but even if they did. I am afraid I would lose it if something ever happened to her like that. Benjamin was already irritating especially when it came to her.
Where did he go anyway? We haven't heard anything from him nor did we received any letters from him either. I know Rosemary was worried about him and she is such a wonderful woman. I am glad that she is mine. She makes every day bright and glorious to be alive. Especially when she keeps on surprising me. Constantly. A soft sigh escapes from my lips while I watch her sleep, she should have seen none of that. So far, it looks like she might have been so tired that she had fallen asleep with a snap of her fingers. Hopefully, she won't have any nightmares.
We shall see when we get closer to the harbor. Falkner seems to be watching over her too and ordering the crew members to get back to work, but he had found a scratch on her upper arm. It made me angry that someone slices her arm, but Falkner took care of it and had wrapped it up in bandages after rolling her sleeve up. Other than that small wound, she was clean of scratches and stabbings. I was relieved to know that and angry at the same time for her recklessness.
Falkner jolted me out of my thoughts, "We are heading into the harbor now, Connor."
I nodded my head as I could see the port from where we are as I started to order the man to slow her down while getting ready to dock the ship. My eyes stray over to Rosemary to see her starting to stir which meant she should be waking up any moment now.

Rosemary's POV:
Luckily, I dreamt of a black hole and nothing else. It was a relief to not dream of anything and the blackness was okay. It felt like I was resurfacing as I was hearing a person calling my name. At first, it sounded distant and muffled. Then I started to feel like I was rising out of the darkness to hear the voice again, but much clearer this time. I felt someone's hand on my shoulder and shaking me gently. Why did this seem familiar? I heard his voice calling my name again and that was when my eyelids decided to flutter open.
At first, all I could see was the sunlight pouring in from where it was setting behind the horizon. Connor came into view along with Falkner as I register confusion in why both of them were right there in front of me. Connor spoke softly in a playful voice, "We have in New York, sleepy-head."
A soft smile spread across my lips while he gave me a faint smile in return. It only lasted for a moment before Connor outstretched his hand towards me and I didn't hesitate to take it. He pulled me up onto my feet while I rubbed the sleepiness out of my eyes.
It was a miracle that I fell asleep that easily after a fight, but Connor told me it was because if the adrenaline that was running through my body and how much of the energy that I had used while coming aboard that ship. It was a good thing to get little rest as I could and he knew that if he left without me. That it would be hell all over again with him. He knew better than to leave me behind again. We were already good at finding each other which was a weird coincidence, but there is no such thing as coincidence at all.
Connor took my hand as we dock in the harbor of the largest port city. My stomach twisted itself as I was becoming extremely nervous about this. It was not a game to play. This was real. Connor guided me off of the ship as we touch the dock. A man came up to Connor and recognize him immediately as we started walking off of the docks and into the city of New York, "Hello Connor! Welcome back."
