We both went to the library after school together every single day either to study or just be alone, just the two of us. Thirteen years of our life passed like this.

I turned sixteen and you seventeen.

I used to contemplate how time passed so quickly how you had promised me years ago seeming like it was just yesterday in the park that you would marry me when we grew up.

Soon the day I had learnt about cigarettes through movies came. I researched about it.  I despised it. I told you how I hated people who smoke.

You noticed how that was the first time I used the word hate, since I was never the one to hate anyone or anything. You noticed me scrunching up my face whenever someone smoked in movies, you noticed me making a disgusted face when passing by someone on the street who smoked.

You knew... You knew....
Yet here we are...
Shouting at each other....

"Why do you care anyway?"

I slapped you knocking out the packet concealing the rolls of slow death from your hands....

I'm sorry I didn't mean to.
It-it was a reflex.
