Mac's point of view
"Where is Luce?" I stormed into the war room and stared at Matty. "Mac, sit down." She tried to calm me. That's not a good sign. "No, I won't. Where is she?" I turned around to face my friends, my team mates. "Do you know where she is?" Jack looked at me, like he was sorry for something and he was going to apologize. "Mac, hey buddy. Sit down, ok?" I sat down, but I wasn't really calm. What has happened to Lucy? Jack placed a piece of paper in my hand.
"I won't come back, don't search for me, please. I don't want to hurt the team and especially Mac anymore. Love you all, Lucy."
"She dropped this at the reception and she said that she couldn't face you in person, but I have to tell you that she loves you and that you were the best thing that ever happened to her." Jack added. I couldn't take more than this, so I rushed out of the room and drove home.
Lucy's point of view
I drove for nearly ten hours without a stop. Now I rested at a gas station, because my gas went out. I bought a bottle of water and some chips. I took a hotel in Salt Lake City and stayed there for three days. After I did everything I had to do, I drove to Frisco, Texas to visit a few friends, who had a big channel on YouTube and a huge hall where I could stay for a few weeks, helping them with their videos and no one would notice me. I helped Tim to program their newest app and went with them skiing. But we made a mistake in one of their videos. I was in the background while they filmed and it went online. No viewer saw me, or commented this, but just because they haven't seen me, Phoenix could have spotted me. Hopefully Riley's program, named FR1057 which is able to find faces in online videos isn't that good, so they won't recognize me.
Mac's point of view
"Mac, come inside. You have been standing out there for four hours. She won't come back if you just stand out there." Jack appeared at my back door. He walked towards me and I turned around. My eyes were red and swollen from all my tears and I was completely devastated. He hugged me tight and I let a little sob out. "Do you want to search for her?" he asked and I just nodded. "But-" I sobbed "not too-" another sob "obvious."
The next weeks flew by and I was just a shadow of my former self. After one completed mission Riley called me into the war room. As I entranced, she fogged the panes. Why should she do this? "So, Mac... You know that I placed Lucy on all my searches and we found nothing..." Why is she telling me this? Of course I knew this, but I nodded. "Well, one of my programs found her in an online video. Do you know the YouTubers "Dude Perfect"? Well, she walked through the video." We found her. She is ok, probably... "Can I see the video?" It was a trick shot video, and it wasn't even bad. Riley paused the video at 4:36. "Do you see her?" She asked me and then she zoomed in. And in the background of the video I saw her beautiful face. "Thanks Riley. I owe you something." She nodded and left me alone. I instantly googled the YouTube channel and found the location. Frisco, Texas.
"Matty? Can I take a few days off with Jack to visit a good friend?" I called Matty instantly and she confirmed my request. Jack and I flew to Frisco with a public plane. We stood in front of the massive building and got welcomed by a bearded man: "Hey guys, I'm Tyler. Nice to meet you two, can I help you with something?" He was quite friendly, when you believe that we are some fans or something else. "Hey, I'm Angus MacGyver and that's my buddy Jack. We would like to visit Lucy, she's a good friend of us." His expression froze from one moment to the other. "I need to ask you to leave this property, otherwise I need to call the cops." What was this? Why did he react so defensive? "Come on, Mac, let's go..." Jack pushed me into our rental car and he drove to the backyard of this building. "Let's wait here until we see something suspicious..."Lucy's point of view
"Lucy?" Tyler called me from the hall. "I'm up here, what's up?" He rushed the stairs up and he said in a rushed tone: "I think it would be better if you would leave. Angus and Jack were here. They asked for you." Oh man, they found me. "Can I see everyone else before I leave? And thank you for everything. You really helped me." And there they stood: Coby and Cory, Garret and Cody, Tyler and Jeff, Tim and Chad. "Hey guys, thanks for getting me up after I, uhm, you know the story... I will come and visit you again, but now I have to leave." After I hugged everyone, I got into my car and drove away from Frisco, hoping Mac and Jack won't follow me. But I saw a car behind me, always with a little distance, but no matter when I turned, they followed me. I stopped at a gas station to fill my tank and eat something. I drove ten hours, but I still saw this black Audi. When I stopped again at a motel to stay overnight, this Audi stopped there too. In the middle of the night I went outside and waited at this car, ready to face Mac and Jack. I have missed Mac so much, but I made my decision and it was the best for him.
"Her car isn't here. Riley? Can you track it?" I heard Mac speaking to Riley over his phone.
"Good morning, paperclip boy." I stepped out the shadows and Mac dropped his phone.———————————————————————————
