Chapter 20

The sunlight hitting Camila's face woke her up from her sleep. She groaned as she stretch her arms and legs before she accidentally  brushed Lauren's leg with her foot making the greeneyed girl shift on the bed. She was now facing Camila who stayed still not wanting to wake up the sleeping beauty. 

Camila sighed as she notice Lauren was still asleep on her side. Camila admired Lauren's sleeping state.

Why haven't I notice this before? Sleeping Lauren is the most amazing view I've ever seen. She looked so serene. Like an angel in deep slumber Camila thought as her fingers brushed Lauren's jawline.

"Beautiful" Camila whispered

Lauren's nose scrunched up making Camila stop. After realizing that Lauren is still asleep, Camila moved her fingers to brush Lauren's thick eyebrow appreciating every detail. Lauren's eyebrows furrowed before opening her eyes slowly, blinking a few times before looking at Camila.

Camila found herself getting lost in those dazed and light emerald eyes.

"You're being a creep" Lauren mumbled on the pillow.

Camila felt embarrassed that Lauren just caught her.

"D-did you just wake up?" Camila stammered.

"Yeah" Lauren said before yawning "Why? Did you kiss me or something?"

"Wha...no!" Camila exclaimed as she sits up.

"Awe.. don't be shy Camz. It's not like you haven't kissed me before" Lauren teased.

"Shut up" Camila said as she felt her cheeks heating up in embarrassment.

Since when did I start feeling embarrassed in front of her? Be cool Camila..

Lauren chuckled as she sat up on the bed "I'm gonna get ready for school.. go get ready and meet me in our kitchen"

"Bossy" Camila smirked "why in your kitchen?" Camila asked confused

"Breakfast Camz.. it's the most important meal of the day"

"Okay mom" Camila rolled her eyes.

Lauren chuckled before crawling on the bed to kiss Camila's head.

"See you later sweets" Lauren got up and walked out leaving Camila a blushing mess.

Camila ran to the bathroom and stared at her reflection.

"Blush? I don't blush" Camila mumbled before splashing cold water on her face.

Lauren stepped inside their house while Taylor gave her a confused look.

"Mom Lauren's here!" Taylor yelled.

Her mom came out of the kitchen and crossed her arms on her chest. "Where have you been and who's with you?"

"Relax.. I was just next door with Camila.. Her dad is on a business trip so I kept her company and I invited her for breakfast"

Clara's frown turned into a smile "Oh okay. As long as it's with Camila. And tell her I'm making pancakes"

Taylor was smirking at Lauren "She could've just crashed here.. like these passed few nights"

"She's been sleeping here? How come we didn't notice?" Clara asked confused

"Because you guys are already in your rooms everytime she comes over and she leaves really early in the morning"

"So she's sneaking in and out of your room?" Chris joined in leaning on the railings on the stairs.

"What have you guys been doing?" Taylor asked teasing her sister.

"Stop asking your sister questions.. Camila is more than welcome here. I like that girl" Clara gave Lauren a smile.

"We're just friends mom" Lauren rolled her eyes.

"You guys look at each other too long to be just friends" Clara grinned before walking back to the kitchen.

Lauren walked up the stairs ignoring Taylor and Chris' smirks. She entered her room and sighed as she close the door behind her.

Do we really look at each other THAT long.

....

"Camila!"

Camila sighed as she heard Shawn's voice calling out her name.

"Hi Shawn" Camila smiled.

"So tomorrow. 7. Are we still on?" Shawn asked smiling.

"About that.." Camila sighed

It's now or never.

"I can't go out with you Shawn" Camila blurted out with her head down. Shawn's smile disappeared from his face.

Great you hurt his feelings

"You don't feel it too?" Shawn spoke making Camila look at him in confusion.

"I know Camila.. we don't have it" Shawn smiled.

"Have what?" Camila frowned.

"Sparks"

"I'm sorry Shawn." Camila sighed.

"Don't be.. we can't push what we don't have."

"Are we still friends?" Camila asked.

"Of course.. and I would still sing with you" Shawn gave Camila a hug which she reciprocated.

"Thank god.." Camila mumbled on Shawn's chest.

"Don't feel so guilty" Shawn chuckled "I'll see you later?" Shawn asked as he pulls away from the hug.

"See you" Camila smiled.

Shawn walked away and Camila let out a breath of relief.

That was easy

"He took it really well"

Camila turned around and saw Lauren leaning on the lockers with Dinah.

"What's happening?" Dinah asked confused.

"Shawn and I agreed to stay friends" Camila answered smiling.

"Yes!" Dinah exclaimed putting her fist up "My ship is sailing!"

"What ship?" Camila asked confused.

"Don't listen to her.. you good?" Lauren asked as she steps closer to Camila.

"I am. I feel like a weight was  lifted off my shoulders" Camila smiled.

"Good.." Lauren smiled back.

"Why did you turn him down?" Dinah asked.

That question took Camila off guard. She didn't prepare an answer for that.

"I uhh.. I didn't..." Camila stammered.

The bell rang cutting Camila off as she jumped at the sound echoing in the halls.

"Saved by the bell" Camila grabbed her book before walking away.

That was close.

"What's up with her?" Dinah asked confused.

"I don't know.. she's acting a little weird lately" Lauren answered.

"So.. she's not seeing anyone again" Dinah smirked as they walk towards class.

"So..?" Lauren asked waiting for Dinah to continue.

"That means you're back in the game"

"I am certainly NOT back in the game.. I have Taylor now" Lauren smiled.

"So you're over Camila?" Dinah asked.

"Almost" Lauren sighed.
