{Slug Club}

"Please, everyone, take a seat!" Professor Slughorn exclaimed as everyone took a seat around his table. You, among other students, had been invited to a special dinner in his office. He liked exceptionally bright students and for once, it was nice to know that you fitted into that category.

You were sat between Hermione Granger, one of your friends, who was a year above you, and at the other side of you, there was a boy that you had seen before but didn't know his name. "Keep yourselves entertained whilst I get the drinks," Slughorn said as the table was filled with conversations. You looked at the boy who sat next to you and smiled. "Hi, I'm (Y/n)." You smiled, holding his hand out for him to shake. "We've never met."

"No, we haven't." The boy smiled. "I'm Neville. It's nice to meet you." He was nice enough, and someone that you could see yourself being friends with. "So, Neville, how did you end up being invited into the Slug Club?" You asked, finding yourself desperate to know about him. 

"Well, I'm not entirely sure. Potions aren't really my forte, unlike, herbology, but Professor Slughorn seems to be impressed with my progress." He told you. "What about you?"

"Potions is my best class." You admitted. "I guess that's why I'm here." You leaned in to whisper to Neville. "I have to admit, it's nice to know that Slughorn isn't as strict as Snape. Snape would never let me back into Potions without an Outstanding, but Slughorn is more relaxed."

"I agree." Neville smiled, taking a sip from the drink he'd just been given. "I just hate that we now have to suffer from Snape for Defence Against the Dark Arts." You laughed. It was nice to know that someone despised Snape almost as much as you. 

You and Neville ended up talking the entire night.
