"Where is my little baby?" James Reynolds called. He had just unlocked the door to his shared apartment and stepped in. At first glance, he couldn't find Thomas, but then he heard two sets of soft snores.
James cooed quietly at the sight of Charles and Thomas, curled together on the couch, napping. He hadn't even realized that Charles was home.
Thomas shifted lightly, waking Charles.
Charles opened his eyes slowly, peeking up at James. "Hey," he mumbled, voice laced with sleep, "how was your day?"
"Good. Even better now that I came home to this cute scene." James mused, sitting next to the pair, "how long has he been asleep?"
"An hour?" Charles said, phrasing it more as a question, "I'm not quite sure."
"Should we wake him up? We could go out to eat, tonight. Haven't done that in a while," suggested James.
"I like that. Can we let him sleep for just a little longer, though? He really needs it," said Charles, nodding his head in Thomas' direction.
"Of course," agreed James, pressing a kiss to Charles' forehead, "of course."
Thomas didn't stay asleep for much longer, eyes opening slowly. His eyes widened more when he saw James, "Daddy! You're home!"
"Hello, baby," James pulled Thomas into his lap.
Thomas nuzzled James' neck, "missed you," he mumbled quietly. He was extremely clingy.
"Papi and I were thinking, if you wanted, that we could do a date night and go out to eat," said James, pulling Thomas in for a quick kiss.
Thomas' eyes lit up, "going out for dinner? I love that!" He giggled, nuzzling into James' neck again.
"We should probably get ready now, baby," Charles said, "we don't want to be late."
"Papi's right, baby," agreed James, kissing Charles' lips gently, but quickly.
Thomas whined loudly, pouting, "Daddy, I want attention," he whined again.
"Attention, hm?" mused James, "maybe Daddy can treat you, just a little..."
-------three hours later--------
"Could I please get a glass of wine, please?" asked Thomas.
James gently patted Thomas' thigh, smiling at his baby, "I'd like to have some Root Beer, please."
"Daddy's being sane, for once," giggled Thomas quietly, quiet enough that the waitress wouldn't hear him.
James gently pinched Thomas' ass, "behave," he whispered.
Charles watched the two interact, smiling sweetly, "I'll just have some water, please."
"Perfect," the waitress flashed a sweet smile as she went back to the kitchen.
"Thomas?" A loud voice exclaimed, "oh my stars, it really is you!"
"Alexander?" Thomas blinked, "John?"
"I thought something bad had happened to you!" John remarked loudly.
"Baby, who are they?" asked James, pulling Thomas onto his lap.
"Well, uh, James, I used to date them," muttered Thomas awkwardly.
"Laurens?" Charles frowned, reaching across the table and grabbing Thomas' hand.
"Lee," hissed John, "what are you doing here?"
"James?" James frowned, looking at Thomas, "what happened 'Daddy'?"
Thomas' burned a bright red, "I, uh-"
"'Daddy'? Where the fuck did that come from?" questioned Alexander, his temper fiery, "that doesn't sound like our Thomas."
"Maybe you don't know him like we do," Charles began, "maybe you don't actually know him."
"Papi-" started Thomas, but was cut off.
"This has got to be some sort of cruel joke!" John shouted, slamming his hands onto the table.
Thomas flinched, eyes widening in fear, "m-mr. Laurens, please calm down," he stuttered.
"Baby girl, are you okay?" James asked, tightening his grip on Thomas, "baby girl, please just breathe," he hugged Thomas close.
Charles shot a glare in John and Alexander's direction, "leave, before you cause more issues for my boyfriends and I."
Alexander scoffed in offense, dragging John towards the entrance.
"Thomas, honey, listen to our voices," Charles said gently, leaning towards Thomas, "Daddy and I are here, you can relax now. The mean people are gone."
