fighting for love

what do you say?

-Elaine-POV-

with that i walked up stairs and got kylie from aaron before i headed to bed, a few hours later i felt someone tapping my shoulder and rolled over to find zak on one knee in the floor holding a tiffany and co ring box.

"Lainey, I know its been 7 years since I let you left me and you only came back 6 months ago but i'm still sure I want you to be my wife! I can't imagine marrying and spending the rest of my life with anyone but you because you are the mother of my adorable daughter and the love of my life! will you make me a happy man and become Mrs Lainey Bagans?" he asked holding out the ring box looking in my sleep filled eyes.

I didn't know what to say or do because I was shocked and tears were running down my face. I nodded as best I could before I chocked out

"Yes, I will became Mrs Elaine Bagans!" I smiled falling out of the bed into his arms.

"i love you Lainey Bagans! I love you and our beautiful 6 year old daughter!" he smiled before he kissed me and I said

"are you sure about all this bagans?" I asked him

"i'm sure, I want to marry you and be in my daughters life for good, not just for weekend a month or every other weekend. I want to be in her life all the time, every day, every hour, every minute. I want to have a family with you" he mumbled as he hugged me tight

"i want that too. I love you zak bagans!" I smiled and he put me back in the bed before he went around to crawl in the other side of the bed leaving kylie between us. I rolled onto my side and watched kylie cuddle into zaks chest as he slept on his side.

the following morning I woke up to find both kylie and zak gone with no sign of them in the bathroom I knew they were most likely downstairs making breakfast. the thought of them bonding already made me smile as I laid in bed on my back looking at my beautiful engagement ring from tiffany and co. zak really does know what I like.

I got up a few minutes later and decided to let kylie and zak have their time this morning so I took a while showering and getting ready.

a few hours later I came down to find zak sitting on the couch in the rental with his arm around kylie watching cartoons. I took a picture then grabbed a orange juice from the refrigerator before joining them on the couch.

"mommy!" kylie smiled as I sat down on the opposite side of zak.

"hey munchkin!" I smiled and pecked zak on the cheek

"morning babe!" he smiled

"morning! so what did you guys have for breakfast?" I asked

"pancakes and bacon mommy! zak makes really big pancakes" she laughed

"well zak is a pretty big guy!" I chuckled

"he sure is mommy!" she laughed turning back to the cartoons on tv

"so when are we going to tell her the news?" zak asked

"maybe we can take her out to lunch and tell her than?" I said

"like today?" he asked

"yea if we have time before the lockdown tomorrow night"

"lockdown isn't till Tuesday night and its only Friday so we have plenty of time" he smiled

"ky, you wanna go for a ride then go eat?" I asked making kylie look over at me

"i'd like that mommy, but is zak coming?" she asked looking between me and zak

"i sure am!" zak said in a thick southern accent

"alright lets go" she laughed and got up from the couch before grabbing mine and zaks hands to pull us up and outside to the barn.

we went for a long ride before we came back and left to go to lunch.

we got out and went inside before we placed our order then we sat down and started eating before I said

"ky, I've got something to tell you baby girl" I smiled looking over at zak.

"what is it mommy?" she asked laying her burger down

"mommy is getting married baby!" I smiled brightly

"to who mommy?"

"i'm gonna marry zak baby, is that okay?" I asked looking her in the eyes  

"does that mean I get to live with gracie?" she asked

"it sure does baby! and I've got something else to tell you" I chuckled. I took zaks hand in mine and looked down at them before I looked at her again and said

"you remember a few months ago when you asked about your dad?" I asked her

"yea what about daddy?"

"zak is your daddy baby!" we smiled and she looked at us funny before she said

"does that mean gracie is mine?" she asked looking at zak

"it sure does, my house is your house too." he smiled as she ran around in front of him

"can I call you daddy?" she asked

"if your okay with calling me daddy ky" he chuckled

"i think i'm okay with calling you daddy" she smiled and threw her arms around his neck before she went back to eating her burger and we finished ours.

-Zak-POV-

the days following were everything I had dreamed about when I found out about kylie. I never thought I would be a bragging dad or future bragging husband but here I am, a month from Thursday when we head home we will back standing in the back yard of Lainey's house In las vegas saying I do.
