Chapter 1:

Cinder's POV

Linh Cinder walked into hell, oh I mean Commonwealth High prepared for another brutal day. Every day at that school was torment. With the teachers exhausting assignments and Levana's bitchy slut crew school could turn out to be a real torture device. Little did she know that day would change her life forever.

Of course those kinds of days don't always start well.

"Hey Cinder did you roll around in some ashes before you came to school cause by your hair it looks like it" Levana Hayle-Blackburn called in a tone that was dripping with fake sympathy

"Just ignore her" Cinder's cousin Winter Hayle-Blackburn said from beside her

"How do you put up with her at home"Cinder asked

"Keep my headphones on" Winter replied

Cinder doubled over laughing. When she finally came up for air she locked eyes with the last person she expected to see. Kai Prince

"What are you staring a-" Winter turned around and answered her own question,"well if it isn't Prince Charming"

Cinder broke eye contact,"shut up", she said even as she blushed

"You like him whether you like it or not" she said defiantly

"We only talked once and besides you still haven't gotten anywhere with your Prince Charming either" Cinder retorted

Winter blushed "that's beside the point"

"Yah right" Cinder laughed

The warning bell rang

"See you later" Cinder called as she walked down the hall towards the science wing
