In search of himself and his life's quest.
Instead, found a damsel
Took his heart and ran hell
Now he sits and cries, sad and depressed.

DAYTIME WIFE

Thicker than thorns, you thought we were bonded for life
But this was just a fake marriage and you, the daytime wife.
So when the dark nights came and little terrors wailed,
Like a spec of dust in the air, that was how fast you bailed.

You claim you always cared but that's just a play from your script,
Nothing we shared was deep so I don't blame you for your current skit.
Different opinions and views, we are like the two ends of the pole,
Minus the attraction - the distance is the only referenced role.

Instead of carrying on and turning a blind eye, I've decided to cut ties and let go.
We can't keep walking together if I know you won't be there when things go rouge,
I don't need no daytime wife, I need a constant friend, a trusted fellow.
So I journey on without you with no hard feelings and hope you someday find whatever suits you.

STEPHANIE

It was a hot summer day,
I was walking down the street reading a novel on the way
When I bumped into a lady looking all beautiful and gay,
My heart stopped, my jaw dropped - I was short of what to say.

Then she smiled at me and all my thoughts just ran away
I was looking dumb and stupid, God what's wrong with me today!
I lost all orientation and composure as I fell under her sway.
She broke the silence then I apologized, my senses no longer a runaway.

After the initial awkwardness I finally regained my "shway"
Just when a guy scooped her up and public affection was put on display.
He was her boyfriend, I later learned to my obvious dismay
But at least I got her name and I still think of her - Stephanie - till this day.

In the midst of uncertainties,
From the valley flooded with doubts;
A single clear thought arose,
A conviction from the depth of the heart.
The idea was birthed,
An obsession manifesting
Then the realization came,
It had to be you, it would always be you -
You or nothing - the only thing I was certain of.

Time can't be restrained,
Neither can the urge you stir in me.
Oceans can't be emptied,
Neither can the love I have for you.

Eternity is endless,
So is the timeline for loving you.
Joy is priceless,
So is the feeling you invoke in me.

Forever won't be enough
To show you how much you mean to me.
Journey may be rough,
But I'll survive anything just to be with you.

When death be to all the stars of the night
And moon of crescent be swallowed from sky,
Then would my love for you sail far from sight
And all I've e'er felt would wash up and die.

When the shadows rejects man in the day
And the mirrors reflects nothing to see,
Then shall my love for you wither away
And you become but a stranger to me.

As long as summer remains ever cheer
And winter still carries along it's chill,
My love for you would never disappear
And we'd be together forever fill.

But none of these promises can I keep
As you now lay beneath me six feet deep.
