Once we finished helping out Ty with his chores we stopped to talk with Amy who was with another client horse the older gentleman from yesterday came up with Caleb.

"Hi, you must be Jolene my name's Jack" He greeted reaching out his hand

"Nice to meet you Jack" I said shaking his hand

"Would you like to stay for supper" He offered

"That would be great" I said with a smile seeing as I had no food at the trailer, we headed for the house

"Amazing spot you have here Jack" Small talking to make myself less akward

"Thank you" He said looking over at me

"You know if your ever looking for extra hands I've been looking for a change of scenery" I said climbing the stairs to the porch

"You know let me think about it...you have been a big help today" He said with a smile

Filling into the house they introduced me to Lou, Lisa, Katie, Georgie, Peter, Tim and Mitch, they all seemed like really nice people.

"So you want to stay eh?" Caleb whispered leaning over as we sat at the table

"Don't get to excited there cowboy it's just an option, I don't really have a home and I really like it here" I said smiling at him

"I'd really like that" He smiled

As we ate the table was full of conversation, smiles, laughter you could really tell how much everyone loved each other.

"You know what we should do" Asked Tim

"And what would that be?" Said Jack in a questionable/annoyed tone

"I wanna see how good new girl over here is, there's a rodeo coming up let's have a little competition between Heartland people, girls agaisnt guys and whoever wins can donate hald the earnings to the charity of there choice" Tim suggested sizing me up from across the table

Guys like Tim never scared me I grew up around much scarier men then him and I wasn't going to back down from a challenge.

"That actually sounds really good Dad, it would be good business" Said Lou

"When's the rodeo?" Asked Jack

"Saturday" Said Tim everyone agreed, but I was hesitant only because Moon is still not out of commision

"That's great and all but my horse is still down for the count" I said looking around the table

"You can use Flo while I work with Moon I think you two would work well together" Said Amy

"That works for me I'd like to take run her a few times, figure out her cues" I responded

"Lets make it a little more interesting" Said Tim looking around the table at us

"Now what are you thinking?" Asked Jack

"Boys against girls let's say Amy, Jolene, Jade and Georgie versus Jack, Caleb, Mitch and I we'd compete in all of the same competetions, then add up all of the points" Tim said

"I like that idea" Said Georgie

"Me too, who's going to keep score?" I asked

"I can do it" Said Mallory

"What do we get if we win?" Asked Georgie

"Good question" Amy chimmed in narrowing her eyes

"The loser has to dig out the new out house hole" Jack said looking around the table

"Fair enough" Said Amy with a laugh

Next Day

I showed up to Heartland around 8 AM shivering cold the hot water heater decided to quit on me 2 minutes into my shower.

"Someone looks a little chilly" Amy said meeting me at my truck

"Lost hot water this morning I'll be ok as long I keep moving, it is ok if I take Flo out for a run?" I asked

"Ya sure but if you need to warm up take some time and head inside" She said as she brought me to the back paddock to introduced us

Bringing her to the barn I got her ready before setting up the pattern, ridding Flo was going to be different I'm so used to Moon. As I walked her out of the barn I ran into Mallory she's an odd kid but I like her.

"Hey Mallory can you help me out and keep opening the gate for my runs?" I asked as she scratched Flo

"Ya sure" She said as she ran over and opened it, I took a deep breath and got into my zone and took off

Running barrels was my favorite thing in the whole world when I did I blocked the whole world out, but right now I need to focus on Flo's movements and her cues.

"What a time" Said Ty holding a stop watch I hadn't even noticed he was there

"It's all Flo" I said laughing patting her neck

"I think you guys got some competition?" Laughed Georgie as she  walked up

"Wanna keep timing me I want to run a few more times" Ty nodded up at me

Flo is an amazing horse she just knew what to do I barely had to tell her what to do or correct her she was made for this. After my last run I got her cooled down then put her back in her pen before going to do chores. This time Amy is the one to invite me back for supper I have felt so welcomed somwhere then I do here.

"So you and Caleb?" Asked Lou as I helped her finish supper

"I don't what your talking about? We got supper once but we haven't really talked since" I said

"Well I've seen the way he looks at you even if you don't see it we do, you seem really good for him especially after Ashley" She complemented

"Thanks" I said with a smile

"And I was talking with grampa and we'd like to take you up on your offer and we'd like for you to stay and help, you've done wonders around here" She said with a smile

"I'd love that thank you so much you guys have been great to me" I said with a huge smile on my face

Finishing up supper we called everyone in as everyone sat down all I could think about how special all of these people were, I'm glad my friend recommended Amy.
